I visited this Slave house in Goree Island, Senegal it was such an emotional visit, I cried tears while there feeling the pain of so many ancestors who endured suffering. I encourage all of African descent to go there when visiting Senegal

My pilgrimage to Gorée was 1983. It was a solo experience. In the "Door of No Return" I silently said "I have returned." I would repeat this in the several "doors of no return" I visited in my sojourns in 10 African nations (not all have "doors").

A lot of people will justify american slavery by saying that africans had slaves too but I think there is a bit of a difference...most african slaves were prisoners of war or criminals or some people working off a debt...Eventually most were freed and a lot of them were treated decently. Some of the people selling blacks to the whites did not really know their fate..later when people returned from Africa and told others where they were being sent a lot of the slave trade ended...

I had a dead friend Visit there and when he came back he said that He couldn't explain the pain that he felt that it was definitely a spiritual Experience.And that is soon as you entered the door way you could just feel death all around you He said he couldn't even put into words How it overcame so many people. And then to see the door with the point of no return Just broke so many people.Said it was an experience that not only every Black/African American should experience but that every human should experience.
@MsChocolatesmoothie12 жыл бұрын
Remember those Africans who were sold away were also the brothers, father,sisters, lovers, mothers of those Africans who stayed behind, so don't forget that somewhere someone was weeping for the loss of a brother, mother, sister, lover, father who was forcefully brought to the West to become enslaved. They lost their loved ones too.

Hotep Blessings & Guidance to you for filming this experience. Outstanding job the tact in the queen sisters experience was classy and an example of how true we should be in our relationship to each other. We are African - albe it someone else's name or what ever anyone wants to call themselves; we (black/brown humans) are direct decendent's of the original man - our direct ancestors are from that continent, period. It was a blessing to you, thank you again for sharing brother. Ankh Udja Seneb

That may be, but this man was not responsible. From him, we can learn what his ancestors did. I have never heard of Africans bragging about the selling of other Africans into slavery.

they captured people from INNER AFRICA but SOLD THEM ON THE SHORES of west africa. Alot of people go to these "castles" thinking that where they are is where the people sold are from and thats not correct. The people giving these tours knows this information as well. Goree Island was just a selling point.

you know that's not entirely true. There were SOME Africans who sold other Blacks to European slave traders, but what they don't tell you is that there were also many Africans who fought against the slave trade. there was a senegalese chief who attacked european ships that came and to the shore in search of slaves. There was a woman called Nzinga who fought against the expansion of slavery.

Shalum my brother & sisters. I understand why he got by what the caucasian person says to her child. But if we go by the turah for those of you who don't understand It's the scripture. The caucasian person is right. Our forefathers had disobeyed Yahuah Alahym of Yahsra'al by going to the land of mitzraim instead of staying input in our natives land Israel. Read deuteronome leviticus it tells you why we are living like that. Only way we can overcome the curse is by admitting our faults & get back
@ddavis2605Ай бұрын
You’re right, but that’s not the reason why he told his child that, you know it, and I know it, Instead of telling the child, the truth, maybe because she was too young, he tried to instill that they were bad in her head so she can be OK with it…. I highly doubt that he even knew that was the real reason we went into slavery…

Just now I was watching a TV Program in SAFARI Channel in Kerala State, India. Journalist P P James was narrating his African travel experiences particularly on Al Gore island of Senegal. He recalled the of Pope John Paul and Nelson Mandela. Their weeping and the confessions of Pope John Paul. The journalist says there a few books on Al Gore tragedies. 250 years of slavery, pain and agony ! If this would've happened in Europe or in America the responses would really be different !! The inhuman treatment of innocent human beings for two and a half centuries !!! The entire humanity should recognize these generations and the experiences they underwent. A number books should be written. A number of Movies may be made. If possible these people may be compensated in an appropriate way.

90 percent of our black people are in brazil why aren't they asking them to come back. Many of the black Brazilian knows the truth about the African, and I am sure they will tell you the truth. We need to start with the Brazilian black people first and then Egypt, and than deal with Africa.
