Not sure if it gets addressed later in the video, but the faq specifically states that after Archaon's Eye ability, both players would get to choose a battle tactic regardless of doubling or not

Damn those Slaves to darkness are strong. Pile in move, if you are not in combat. You can pile however you want. If you are in combat you chose one unit in combat to pile towards. There is no rule to have to pile towards the closest any more. All out attack is a reaction to a fight ability. So the +1 to hit only applies to the first attack round for Varanguards.

The second I saw that STD list I knew the rats were done for. That list is hammers and anvils, and anvils and hammers. Excellent saves and movement. An example of the rats trying to win by running away, but slim chance of that.

Dont forget that objectives flip at the end of a turn, so you cant really deny warriors +1 attack

Painting my std up now. Got 2 sorcerers, a warrior model, chaos lord and a unit of legionaries painted so far. Slow, but fun painting! I’m much less interested in belakor/archaeon/varanguard lists myself, so I’m building around eternis and being more thematic than competitive. I won’t lie though, I’d love to see an occasional battle report with std that didn’t feature archaeon or belakor and varanguard… it’s just impossible to find…

Brian, stop sleeping on spite tongue curse! the flat 3mw is actually really great. Especially when you can do it in both hero phases. On units like Archy and Belakor the D3mws from failing it isnt bad.

So many questions/observations If Adrian finished deploying first, why did Brian pick who goes first? Why didn't he teleport and or scurry away with the Deceiver? Thanquol is +1 to cast so the bell would have gotten summoned turn 1 Slaves to Darkness is a warcrime

Why didnt the Stormfiends come back at the end of T3? I thought the display said there were two CP. I think its always worth bringing in reinfornced SF and/or ogres for the recursion and just factor it into the CP budget. They couldve roughed up the warriors and/or abraxia

S2D needs to remain expensive. Noone else has as busted statlines across the board. All of their infantry are gods, all of their cavalry are gods, even their objective monkeys Furies move fast and screen overwatches. The chaos battle tactics offer more than enough flexibility to keep bullying while scoring and theyre THE most equipped to take a double turn, so hey...silver linings, thats one less battle tactic to worry about. Now that they have the slaanesh 3d6 charge "fixing" their mobility issues, I just roll my eyes when S2D players criticize their army about anything. I see OBR and S2D being the two titans of the metaverse in the next tourney season. But great game as always and its rad to see Archeon on the table!!

S2d has shitty formations, shitty traits and artefacts, 70% of the book, including nearly full darkoath is unplayable, yes they buff chosen with 3d6 charge, but 10 models for 520 must have some power. They are not overpowered, it just a good warscrolls in the army, that made it work. But alligeance ability , excluding pledges are trash.

Problem is 2 fold. A) skavens currently seriously underpowered b) internal balance in std poor. Most of warscrolls lacking
