"We need the total rehabilitation of alienation." As a life-long alien, I really appreciate Slavoj's enlightened words.

Basically Zizek emphatically is describing a purely physical phenomenon: _Push and Counterpush_ Every force applied will result in exact the same amount of force moving against the push. And I fully agree But we need their natural resources, don't we ?

Especially after having recently listened to a number of lectures by Terence McKenna on youtube, I appreciate Zizek's lambasting of the New Age espousal of a return to Archaism, and psychedelic, psilocyben induced shamanism. It is rank materialism to think that by simply taking DMT or psilocyben one, as Zizek criticizes, is rejoined to Nature and there is no longer the separation between thought and reality. Thank God, for the separation, Zizek exclaims. However, I am still intrigued by McKenna's obviously taking the Sapir-Lee-Whorf Hypothesis about language and reality as literally true.

Im not exactly sure how or why holistic return becomes zizeks particular negation. I presume it could be our inability to properly conceive it. Holistic return that is never fully contextualized and excludes the cognitive distance that can be so valuable would be dangerous, but so would be a world without a powerful visceral engagement.
