Indeed, its so timeless, that i have super high doubts they can ever top it, or anyone else either could, for that matter really. But I guess that's ok. Masterpieces very rarely can get surpassed or even matched. Can't expect a miracle upon an insane miracle. First game was way too good for its own good. Still is. People with thousands and thousands hours, never really getting bored of it. Literally the game you want to have if you are ever stranded on an island for years. The solution to everything. The roguelike card game to end all card roguelikes. With that said, trailer is cool, but it does feel like a reskin of the same game. But who knows, no idea if that's a bad or good thing. I guess time will tell.

A cheeky reference to the fact that so many people whined about the game being too hard while playing it entirely wrong. People want to get a specific build when you are supposed to work with what you are given in a roguelike, i like that. People gotta think harder if taking something will add value to the deck or not. Core principle of deckbuilding. And getting tough encounters for loot, duh.

@@AR-rg2en That's a strong Ironclad build for sure, but relies on getting Barricade (a rare power card), drawing and playing Barricade (it costs 3 energy), getting Entrench (an uncommon card), and having enough good block cards to build up block, all while being able to get through the 1st act with enough scaling damage against the act boss. It's good if it works out but it's pretty rare to fall into place on high Ascension levels. It also might not even be enough against the Heart, if you don't scale block fast enough (especially to survive the first few turns)

@@spiderwebb222 Exactly! Barricade is the main piece, and without it the deck may not work. The thing is in the later stages, you can upgrade Barricade so it costs 2 energies, and you usually have like 4 energies by default after the first or the second boss. I forgot to mention Impervious, it’s another important piece. It gives you 20 shields or 30 shields if upgraded, then you can just keep doubling it with Entrench and it keeps compounding. You are bang on, the hardest part is getting through the first or the second bosses while trying to build out my hand, but it’s manageable with cards like Impervious, 8 blocks, default attacks, and potions. True, it’s rare to fall into place, but I would say if you visit the stores it increases your chances. Basically the two main ingredients are Impervious + Barricade. Entrench is the cherry on top and not that necessary, but it can easily be found. I used this strat for Ironclad as you’ve said, and found it to be insanely dominant. Later realized there is this Heart boss battle after finishing the rest of the characters, so went back to Ironclad, and built this deck again. Had like 999 shields in the battle, the max you can get, and destroyed the Heart with Deal Damage Equal to Block. I don’t know of any other way to fight the Heart, cuz I haven’t played or experimented as much. It’s a type of deck that may be a bit difficult to build, but when it all falls into place, it’s unstoppable.

my theory on Doom is that it's a stacking debuff that kills the enemy once it goes over their HP, but it also decrements over time i'm basing the idea that it kills from an HP threshold off the fact that it appears to display from the end of the enemy's healthbar rather than the front and the reason i think it decrements over time is that Scourge+ (which is either a common or a starter card) applies 17 Doom for 1 energy, which seems insanely high if it was just effectively the same thing as damage

It seems you usually have to play another card (e.g. Time's Up! - 1 cost, exhaust, deal damage equal to Doom) to cash in the damage. So it's seemingly more delayed and requires more cards/energy than just a 1 energy card for 17 damage. FWIW poison also displayed in a similar way to Doom and that didn't really have anything to do with an HP threshold.

If I had to guess, the necrobinder's "Doom" debuff will probably be an execution threshold. So an enemy with 30 total health, and 20 doom would die after taking 10 damage. The hand buddy to tank attacks will be interesting as well!

@@beemz8841 Necrobinder doom looks like it only activates once the enemies health has depleted to that number, so if they have 130 max hp + 70 doom, if you deal 60 damage they die from the doom, I don't know if that is similar to what you're talking about.
