Some people think that Tom skives in writing bass parts, especially in this one. In fact, it would be pointless to double guitar in that fastest lick: Tom followed Dave's accents, and that serves the song better. Same with the galloped one (one of my most favorite riffs at all). People tend to forget that bass must tie up rhythm guitar and drums, being a kind of compromise between them. Plus, Tom also sings (screams, yells, whatever). He did a great job, exactly what he supposed to do. P.S. And yeah, Great job Kello! ;-) \m/

Couldn't agree more. Bass isn't a low-tuned guitar, it's a different instrument to play. What sounds good on guitar doesn't have to sound good on bass.

Great cover, and I love that it follows the actual bass line, not the guitars (thought sometimes it's good to try it out for fun). I really think this bass line doesn't get enough respect for being a solid anchor in a song that kind of needs it. And when you have Dave, Jeff, and Kerry able to let loose, that's a good thing!
