Slayer has so many great riffs, and damn those drums on this one. I used to listen to them for a while as a teenager. Even had some Slayer badges on my jacket, and spray painted their logo on railway tunnel (where no one probably ever saw it) 😂 Then I learnt to play this song on guitar few years later.

This album was my first Slayer, back in the day, and still is THE album. And Mr Lombardo is one of the best drummers! Love how the reactors had problems understanding the song at first. The Season in the Abyss has three of the best Slayer songs of all time: this one, Dead Skin Mask, and of course War Ensemble. All hail to Mr Hannemen, Rest in Peace

My personal favorite Slayer song. I remember like 5 years ago I saw Slayer after not having seen them since 1999. I'd watched their live VHS/DVDs and most of the live at various Metal festivals on KZbin videos. I hadn't heard them in person or in a video play this song live (though I later found a show on KZbin I had missed where they did, but I digress). Then at the show 5 years ago in the middle of the set they busted this out and I nearly had a heart attack. I was grabbing my friend's by the shoulders to keep myself upright screaming "OH MY GOD!" , right in their faces, freaking the fuck out because I never expected to hear it in person. I still remember when that crunchy, could break Thor's hammer because it's so heavy, riff kicks in every cell in my body was screaming "FUCK YES!" I love this song!
