but why do I always get a deja vu when hearing it, the drums and guitars, as if it would be used everywhere and you hear it all the time, while in reality it's only in this song that is not even that often spoken of in pop culture

@@Killuminati23yeah get you, think it's just one of them special slayer songs where the rest of the album is of a similar style and pace, the following album is similar too.
@Tomyelectronic Жыл бұрын
It was the summer of 1988: all of the Thrash-Metal-Maniacs in my local town and area couldn't stand it anymore to held the new Slayer record in hand. We were waiting from day to day and went to our local record store to ask if they had any news. Definitely no other chance to get any information back then. About 2 years earlier SLAYER had become SUPERSTARS within the (Thrash) Metal Scene with their breathtaking "Reign in Blood" Album. We ALL wanted more of this unbelievable heavy stuff. Songs written by Slayer how only they were able to. Then the day came. As I just read on Wikipedia it was the beginning of July 1988. Long, long ago. Hell, we are getting OLD! We immediately bought the record, went home, closed the doors of our rooms and put it on the record player. Awaiting another "Angel of Death" at first song. But....what.....the ...... hell......!!!!!!!! ????? WHAT WAS THIS?????!!!! Slowly and rotten "South of Heaven" made its way to our ears. I remember it as well at if this had happened last week. What a GREAT disappointment!!!! It was so disappointing - hard to describe. Okay - after this "boring" entry "Silent Scream" brought back hope. I could write on and on. To conclude: Disappointment was massive! We all wanted to hear "South of Heaven" nice - but it was how it was. It took years and the beginning of the 1990s (when the "real" Slayer era had ended with "Seasons in the Abyss" - analogous to Metallica with "...and justice....") that we realized HOW GOOD South of Heaven had been. It belongs to the great masterpieces of SLAYER. Nowadays i see it through different eyes and enjoy listening to it a lot. It contains some of their never dying pearls. Greetings from germany.

I personally like SLAYER BETTER THAN SLIPKNOT AND SLAYER WAS THE BEST OUT OF THE BIG 4= METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER AND ANTHRAX IMO anyway and I've seen both SLAYER and SLIPKNOT live in concert and Rob Zombie was another great performer and I've always been a fan of Zombie even before he went solo, I loved white Zombie and thunder kiss 65 is one Rob Zombie's best songs... +salamango81 How can God, who can only do good, do necessary bad things for the "greater good"? Bad things will always happen because of "free will" plus our human brains are too small to fully understand "the greater good", it's just not possible for us to truly determine if a bad event will result in a better situation.
@17YOchem9 жыл бұрын
+salamango81 imo slayer do necessary and constructive critiques of false christian doctrines. For example the invention of "hell" where an all loving God with limited fury punishes people for eternity regardless of no such place being mentioned in the bible + 99999 contradictions (for example the bible says the dead don't have bodies, or minds, can't feel or think etc). or the disgusting invention of "purgatory" where bastard children are punished for being bastards.
