Fact is… universities as opposed to colleges are mostly rated due to their graduate/advanced/professional programs. The top-tier (mostly private) colleges - usually but not exclusively - are the best places for undergraduate development because ALL resources focus on them. Furthermore, private colleges do a significantly better job at retaining students - especially Black. Finally, colleges historically send more Black students to top-tier advanced programs. So… Columbia College does a fine job with arts students.
