Death (music & lyrics by Shamgar) When all I knew turned their backs on me, I journeyed through lands far and wide. Searching for something to comfort me, but nothing could stand the test of time. I tried to find strength in my solitude, but I couldn’t find anything there to love Inside of me I found only misery and thoughts that would lead me astray to Death, what a wondrous mystery Death, my mortal enemy Death, my would-be saviour Death, my eternal horror The path I travelled, was riddled with many turns and whether it twisted or twirled, he'd always follow closely behind. Disguised as an ally, but always eager to strike Offering a quick escape whenever I faced a challenge or fight The closer I got to unravel the secrets of life He'd trick me into a destructive spiral of strife When my foe thought he vanquished me, Out of the darkness I rose from my grave. Now that his veil has fallen I'm no longer trapped under a spell of Death, once a wondrous mystery Death, my mortal enemy Death, my would-be saviour Death, my eternal horror Now I finally see through his devious plans, because I have found the value of the man I am.

If I had no connection to the song, I would have almost confused it with Abbath. I am once again... totally impressed. If it says Slechtvalk on the outside, then Slechtvalk is in there.

So happy you guys are back! You're the band that really got me into extreme metal and A Forlorn Throne remains one of my favourite albums of all time. Hope you can visit Canada someday!

My goodness this is SO GOOD!!!! The new stuff, whether intended or not, sounds very influenced by Immortal. Even the vocals have taken on a very Abbathian tone. LOVE IT

When one writes a thrashy blackmetal riff one can not NOT think of Immortal, so one has to play with that reference. The likes of Immortal, Dark Funeral, Dawn, Amon Amarth, Death, Marduk and Dimmu Borgir got us into Black/Deathmetal decades ago. The influences are always there and in this case the obvious references are intentional. We see it as a tribute to one of the best bands out there

Yeah, after I thought about it more. I’m not sure why I said the new stuff sounds influenced by Immortal. Cause I hear that influence in your previous albums as well. Especially on A Forlorn Throne. As well as all the other bands you mentioned. Regardless, I’ve loved everything you guys have put out and this new stuff is definitely no exception. Keep up the awesome work guys!!

Slechtvalk was considered to be unblack metal. Their message was Christian. The music is black metal, but the lyrics are not black metal. That's what they said about the first two albums. However, the newer lyrics are not really black metal either. You can see some light there.

BMP “accidentally” posted another Christian band’s album there a couple of months ago. After several complaints and an apology from the channel’s admin they pulled it. Christians are apparently welcome to listen there, but not to contribute. It’s a real shame. I wish I could remember the band’s name, but I can’t. It was really good, what chance I got to hear it. Very sad.

@ChristianMetalHorde Heck yea! KARV's album was amazing and sounded great. It's sad they pulled it, considering BMP would post some low-tier stuff yet overlook something as great as What the Dunes Have Hidden.
