Awesome that Arctic and Yamaha has been finally getting into the smaller sleds as our youth are missing out! We own a ZR 200 for our girls, our 6 year old is perfect for the 200 but our 9 year old is starting to outgrow it. Was excited about the 400 coming out, but disappointed that they just couldnt stay focused on our youth. This 400 looks too big in size for a kid that's out growing the 200 but not quite ready for a 7/8 size. It's like they took an 800 and cut the motor in half :( C'mon Arctic....You hit the nail on the head with the 200, give us something our kids can step up to next....I'm curious what these 400s weigh, gonna look at one in person. Unfortunately looks like we have to pull out our '93 Jag until she grows big enough for this 400. Man, I am bummed! Was hoping for the 340 to come back, or at least the 400 in a smaller sled size! Cool video guys, but does nothing for us parents that are looking for the next YOUTH sled....show kids riding this thing!

I'm really interested in getting back to snowmobiling but at a price point. I'm a 240 lbs man and these 400 single cylinder machines are priced around the same as a Tundra 600 EFI or a Backcountry 600 EFI. Am I missing something? These machines are kinds nice because you can pick through the forest or just ride on/off Trail like on an old Tundra 250. That's my style but I'd have to see if these could even haul my fat ass around and not be under stress all the time. At 65 hp, they are just above the 550 fan cooled twins which was good enough for me but why so much money? We rode this size sled for decades and never thought nothing of it, I suspect that light weight is this sleds one and only advantage.
@sleddermag3 жыл бұрын
It's not actually that light, but AC and Yamaha have positioned it as a fully-featured, mid-sized sled. So you're getting all the features of a full-sized sled, just it's a 7/8 size and less power. From our understanding, that's why the price is set where it is.
@drumphil18792 жыл бұрын
I just tested the 121 track on my trapline....I wish I had the 146...I have the 156 tundra 550F and I can say this, I'm seriously considering getting this sled, its light nimble, and gobs of power, my tundra is a dog compared to this sled and burns twice the gas...Its so light that it floats on the snow, we were in 3 feet of powder and going up hills, I got stuck a few times because i didnt have the long track, I burned half the feul I normally do on my tundra and it didnt tire me out driving it. I think this sled is comparable to the Tundra 550LT and if there were any cons, I'd say no brake light, cheaper gadgetry, low windshield....This sled with wide ski skins and a high windshield would be amazing for trapping and fishing,..My 550LT has trouble in slush sometimes because the lugs are 1.5...the 2inch paddles and the lightweight of this sled would put my Tundra LT to shame i'm sure
