I was impressed how quickly you stripped those transformers. I do think you ought to turn the copper into ingot forms though.like you said ," its not for the money." It is a hobby and it makes for a great video.

I have a lot of #2 copper in the form of copper wire that I'll melt. These pieces from transformers have tape and glue on them and they make a mess in my crucibles AND they leave pits and other defects in the bars which don't look good.

@@SkullerMetals my solution for that is to put it in a open flame and shake it clean. But hey, I may be interested in getting the location of your scrap yard. I recall you seying they had a way of determining if the ingot is pure copper

When it gets a little cooler out. Plus with all the scrap I had in my garage I couldn't get my melting cart out - it was trapped behind it all. Hopefully I'll be melting soon because it's been a while, I know.
