Well, I just found my favorite reaction to this song. As a musician myself, I love watching other musicians appreciate what other artists do and have their minds blown by a song, especially when it's Sleep Token. My recommendation would be to make "Ascensionism" a priority for your next listen. It's just as much of a ride as this song, with twists and turns all over the place.

I know you guys are blown away by Vessel’s vocals, but something to note is that he also wrote and recorded all the instruments excluding drums, and has a big hand in the mixing mastering and over all production!

I cannot recommend enough Ascensionism from the same album, The Offering from their first album (Sundowning), and Atlantic from their second album (This place will become your tomb). You cannot pin them to a genre, Vessel (the vocalist) writes everything besides drums, drums are written by the absolute unit of a drummer, called II (two). When people would ask me what my favorite band is, I always used to say "well I like this artist and that artist, they have some good songs" but now my answer is Sleep Token hands down without hesitation. I am a guy mostly into death metal/deathcore sort of bands, I listen to a lot of other stuff, hip hop, anime openings etc, but thats my base. My cousin sent me stuff of this bands first album and I liked it, but it didnt stick with me fully. Then she asked me to come see them with her an hour away live. I have seen a ton of death metal bands, Nile, Deicide, Fleshgod and on and on. And I can honestly say the drops live with Sleep Token are as heavy as anything I have seen live before, the effect of it live is mind blowing and I came away after that show obsessed.

They're masked and anonymous and no one knows who they really are and we all want it to be that way, because music nowadays is all about imagery and who did it more than what the actual message of the song is and the emotions it brings out of you. So in a way that's the whole point. They DON'T want you focusing on the video too much or on the imagery too much. Just listen to the music and enjoy.

With this band i do recommend doing a lil research cuz they have a very interesting lore and everyone has different takes on it but i recommend taking what you can read coming directly from the one written interview from vessel and building your own view from the songs but it's a story that is worth it cuz the songs are really relatable and intense and just so emotional and beautiful and heart breaking and if you let yourself you will feel every emotion that a human could ever feel and some you didn't even know your could feel. I really recommend taking a deep dive into this band. Cuz they aren't like any other band out there.

I totally agree with you guys, if you go in with research it's not really a reaction, it's an analysis. There's a reference to one of their first album songs in one of the melodies towards the end. Then the last song in the album immediately after with a part from the first song in their first studio release all ties it together.

There is a scientific reason their music gets louder as the song goes on. It is a brain stimulus that makes you like the music more. It is the same reason live shows get progressively louder as each band plays and even while bands play.

The entire album is a masterpiece, no doubt. But how about some Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Expereiment (LTE)? Hasma said it is fun when as a musician you can follow the song chord progression etc. Then those two band will definitely gives you whole another experience.
