I chuckled reading this. I bought a drum set a year ago because of this song. I feel like I'm many years from being able to play it.

Really good transcription man, your notation is super clear and easy to read! However, I hear most of the song in 4! I only feel like it goes into 6/4 a couple of times in the breakdown! II is playing with the bar lines and placement of snare hits which makes it sound complicated, but really, it’s just 4/4!

I've been thinking the same. The notes of the transcription are all there but I find the time signatures make it more confusing than it needs to be.

do you have any tips to learn how become more independent when playing drums (Left and Right hands)? And how to learn songs faster lol
@MaxamusMaximillian2 ай бұрын
hmm good question, there's a lot of different exercises out there for limb independence but I think a good starting point is just the basic rudiments. Always practise with a metronome and trying playing different subdivisions with different limbs. I've just found that from reading sheet music and learning songs for a long time now that it comes very quickly to me, try challenging yourself to sight reading drum parts to songs you've never heard before, it will be hard at first but will help alot. Thanks!

Really solid! Any reason you didn't just keep it all in 4/4?
@MaxamusMaximillian6 ай бұрын
Thank you man, some parts in the verse change between a 3 and 4 feel, so that's why you have some bars in 6/4 and 9/4 which I think makes it easier to count

Sheet music is a way to communicate music, and generally sheet music is written in the easiest possible transcription. In this case I agree with writing it in 6 because. lines up with the phrases. And I think it is easier to understand it by aligning the bar line to match the phrase vs writing it in 4 and crossing the bar line, which can be confusing. They both get to the same place
