I've been looking for a while for a video that has the sound of passing traffic in the rain. I've always found it a comfort when laying in bed from a young child hearing the traffic pass by especially in the rain. As it makes me feel like I'm not the only one awake or alone. very good one. I had not thought that much about it,but I realized how much I liked hearing that "tires rolling through water on a street" sound lol its funny how one forgets those little moments one notes certain sounds as sounding soothing or meditative. Once I saw this vid title my mind already was recalling the sounds I liked about driving around on a rainy drizzly spring or fall day or walking somewhere on a rainyday...and I hadn't realized the exact sound that I found attractive which was that unique tires rolling along wet roads sound and the low hum of motors on a highway. Reminded me of car trips when I was a little kid when we'd be going on a vacation to camp or going to see relatives in another state. Another good variation of this is also slower moving vehicles in a city street scene and the tire sound on the wet street is a little different pitch (or timbre?). Anybody mention liking the sounds of car tires driving through gravel? or the sound of small gravel rock being shoveled? I always found that particular sound to be relaxing for some reason. Thanks.

I live in a noisy place. We have every kind of city noise. Helicopter. The 5 freeway is one minute away. Large planes flying overhead. Gunshots. Screaming. Disneyland fireworks every night around 9 to 9:30. The only sound we don't have is that of rain. That's rare, although it DID occur just 3 days ago with lightning and hail.

I love listening to rain and am so pleasantly surprised that there are so many nice very long videos. But for some reason this is my favorite. I think because it is real. It is not dreamlike. It is the everyday world we live in. We can look out at that world, with all its flaws. The everyday boring mediocre world of strip malls, suburban streets, cars going by. But even that world can be peaceful at times. We don't have to run away or slip into a dream or put on rose colored glasses to occasionally find peace.

Grew up in England by a main road most of my life, that sound of tires on the wet road is so calming to me, this is the best video I've found for sleep. After moving to somewhere a bit less busy I struggle sometimes with tinnitus, but this helps drown out that annoying noise and also makes me feel like I'm more "at home" I guess. All my life, I've lived near large main roads it seems. Growing up, we lived not far from a duel carriageway and as a young boy I would climb onto the upstairs windowsill and watch the traffic. At night, the sound of distant cars lulled me to sleep. When I left home, my new place was right beside the main carriageway out of town, which ended up being a great comfort. A few years later, I moved right into the centre of town, which didn't bother me. My current residence is still near main roads but I can't hear the traffic anymore 😢 I do miss it at night This video is amazing, thank you so much for uploading it! A godsend!

Used to live about half a kilometer from a big bridge that had a tram crossing it all day until 1 AM. I would lie in bed as a kid and hear the tram's wheels screech on the rails as it turned the corner and angled up the bridge. You dont need a car to get good sound quality! All you need is a blue tooth speaker to go with your phone Internet connection! Mine is only about 8 inches by 4 inches and it's very clear and loud and only costed about 25$. I've had it for about a year now and it's also water resistant and rechargeable!

It's fascinating to me how there's a division among people when it comes to soundscapes. Specifically when it comes to rural vs urban preferences. I've heard people from big cities (i.e. NYC) say they can't sleep at night out in the country because the silence is so "loud", so to speak. They go to soundscapes to provide the noise they need to be able to sleep. There are soundscapes of the chaotic aural mess that is NYC, with construction noise, yelling, cars, and so much noise it makes my head hurt. But people from those areas can find that comforting. Nothing wrong with that, it's just so different from what I'm personally used to. On the flipside, sometimes people from cities actually really enjoy the relative silence of the naturescapes - sounds you don't get to hear if you've never had the opportunity to get out of the big city. The same goes for rural folk. It's just interesting to me how divisive soundscapes can be (and not in a bad way, so long as people don't bicker about it lol.)

I remember staying at my grandfather's apartment across the street from a bar. It was summer so there was a fan on, but mingled with it were the sounds of laughter, cars & music. It wasn't a BIG city, so not a lot of traffic. It gave me such a mysterious, summery feeling... "it's late, but adults are still up having fun, and it's cooled down cause it's night, but it's still warm enough to hang out on the sidewalk." This sounds like Arizona rain.... I'm in Phoenix, grew up here, and this just sounds like home. Being little and being able to leave our doors open all night and hear the sound of the monsoon aftermath through the screen door and that amazing desert rain smell filling the whole house... ok sorry...got carried away. Reminds me of my aunties place when i used to sleep there.She made me sleep outside ..I loved the sound of the traffic but not getting wet.

This is very nice, there are never anyone drivning where i live and if there is, its just teenagers blasting music, not that nice but i love the sound of trafic rain in other places

sometimes it really sucks to live in a small town, its to quiet and you rarely see teenagers, kids and groups of people having amazing times. theres a lack of stores so its not that fun to stroll around and shopp for things, mostly end up with food. At night its to scary, no ones outside, we barely have lights, no ones awake, so not that fun. i wish for a better teenage were i can live like ive always wanted to! just imagen, youre outside at night, mcdonals is open, the shops are open, theres live activity of teenagers on the street, theyre dancing, singing, blasting music, just sitting and talking, walking around with their friends

I listen to this often when I sleep! Thank you for clearing my mind of worries so I can rest, the sound of cars driving on the rain is very calming and the length makes it last more then my entire night! Thank you!

Just started listening regularly in May 2023...very soothing and helpful. My favorite by far to fall asleep to. I really appreciate this a lot.
