Exquisite movement quality and musicality. Myriam Braham’s uses her upper back beautifully. The couple’s timing was brilliant. Bravo!

He's magnificent! He seems so wonderfully elastic. I've never seen him before but I'll never forget him in this brief pdd. She seems like a tiny, delicate, perfect little dancer. She has a reserved delicacy that is lovely but he's breathtaking!

I completely realize now why this seems unrehearsed. They were cast at the last minute. Despite that, they did very well.

What a charmless Aurora! Clean technique, that’s all. He’s superb and coped beautifully with Nureyev’s fussy choreography.

Yes! And Her left foot technique! Especially under the ankle! It is just fabulously magnificently beautiful! ❤ And her hands are so balanced! One couldn’t tell left one from right one! And yes! Nureyev ruined the whole damn thing! 😤

I don't think that she look really cold it's more concentrated i think. The lipstick is a little bit too beerie and dark for her and that makes it more difficult to see her smile. And i really really hate those awful wigs!!!!!! Both dancers do a very good job and are technically absolutely perfect. But it's not only about technic they fit together and there is something magically in the air perfect for a fairy tale. The vision scene is the best one i have ever watched; i am sure you cand find it on youtube it has to be seen!!!!!

I thought they were charming and impressive. Who knows what went into this production given Nureyev was the choreographer (with no credit to Petipa)?

Poor Mathias, those fish dives must have really hurt the arms. I remember Kathryn Morgan saying that if the girl doesn't dive too, the man has to muscle it all himself and it looks shaky. I think that's what happened here

It did not look shaky.
@bessonovafan6454 Жыл бұрын
@@Fairpavel the first two looked fine, the third one looked a bit stuttery, like one of them was ready before the other, or Myriam overshot her pirouette. It just looked off to me. I may be wrong though.

They replaced Ganio and Abbagnato, one of them had been injured the day before. During that period of time, Miriam and Mathias continued to rehearse and were scheduled to perform Aurora and Desire two weeks later. In this particular performance they would have had to dance the pas de deux of Princess Florine and the Blue Bird.

@@alassante I've seen the Bolle/Visneva version ... Mathias is better technically. Dupont/Legris ... Dupont is magnificent, Legris not so much in comparison to Mathias, and the symmetry between the two fo them is somewhat lacking. Why did it seem like they did not have a ton of rehearsal together? There were a lot of little bobbles here and there and even the fish dives and balances weren’t that secure. There just wasn’t a lot of finesse and charm which is one of the hallmarks of the French style. Arms were sloppy and musicality was just not as clean as it needed to be. Such a shame as I really like POBs Sleeping Beauty.
@TheFilipinaWifeLife5 жыл бұрын
I keep comparing this to Dupont and Legris' version. Doesn't measure up

They werent supossed to be dancing those roles till i think two weeks after this performance, they were dancing blue bird and florine for the first leg of the run but Ganio and Abbagnato got injured like two days before this particular performance and they had to replaced them
@liobu30974 жыл бұрын
Danie's Travel Vlog Heyman is better technically than Legris. And I keep seeing you at MOB’s videos commenting « I can’t help but think of Aurelie » She isn’t trying to be Dupont.
@adrienscott69133 жыл бұрын
It’s funny looking back at this two years later and much of my original critique holds up. I will say I noticed this time how firm her footing is on her own. Not stiff but balanced and placed which is one thing many a dancer can learn from this. When her arms are right, they are perfect but there were parts where they got away from her as in the final part of the variation; just arms and legs whipping about. The coda is a touch too fast and while I was impressed with his allegro, it looked cartoonishly fast and not controlled. These costumes are miles better than La Scala’s which are, in my opinion, garish and ill suited to dance.
@uzubo56565 жыл бұрын
That adagio was awful. They should have danced together much more.

KEMET1971 I can agree that this seems underrehearsed. Arms are shaky in promenades, balances are not clean, feet sickled in areas. It’s good, but not clean. Her Rose Adagio was also not great, falling out of turns, coming off pointe more than once, slow in the balances, it needed work.

I don't get why they made the costumes so Marie Antoinettesque, not that I hate it but i feel like Sleeping Beauty should be kinda more medieval
@gtrodovine73427 жыл бұрын
Yes but it's wrote by Tchaikovski :) The action takes place in 17th century and at the final act in 18th century. It's a little bit different of the Disney version.

The historical accuracy portrayed in Disney films are mostly inaccurate. And no, it is not medieval when Tchaikovsky wrote this.

@@liobu3097 Hi, I'm replying to your comment on mine here because it's not letting me do so on my original comment.
