The outside is original, but the inside has been re-done completely. The "old inside" was falling apart. The scenes were plastic dolls that move. In one of them, the Prince's elbow joint was clearly broken under his sleeves.. LOL..😊. He had been "leaning in" to kiss Sleeping Beauty since 1955, so all good! 👍

I remember when it reopened. Finally. I love the dioramas but there's a part of me that misses the version with the dolls. The one that was part of my early childhood. I didn't appreciate it enough.

I know what you mean. Before we leave the park, my dad would ask me what’s the last thing you want to do. And I would say the same thing..I wanna see the sleeping beauty dolls. Such wonderful memories my parents gave me. I was truly blessed to have my parents. Love ya mom and pop

For those who don't remember the walkthrough being like this, at one point the dioramas were small, wooden animatronics. They appear to have completely reworked it.

There’s acc a really interesting history behind the walk through. The original was dioramas similar to this modern one. Then, upon redoing the attraction, animatronic figures were added in place of the dioramas. Finally years later, at the last reworking, imagineers decided to replace the animatronics with dioramas and give tribute to the original walk through. I personally would find it hilarious if they went full circle and the next reworking replaced these new dioramas with updated animatronics. But as it stands I quite like these new dioramas :) I believe the channel Yesterworld has a video on the subject.

I don't live in the US and the one time I went to LA to visit this, it was closed to the public and had to look at it from the bridge... they were using the castle as a storage I couldn't believe it, but it was also my last day there so couldn't return. It’s really amazing but I remember the first time I walked through it when I was younger the stairs were very steep and it was pretty dark. Going back older I didn’t even make it three steps in. Steep stairs and hardly any lighting just at the entrance. Don’t know if it’s just my anxiety or what

Apparently theres supposed to be a gag/jumpscare at the part with the guard walking back and forth with the spear (3:18). A comment i saw said that when they got to it, they watched it for a while, and then when they tried to look down to see, a Goon popped up at them? I cant tell if they're confusing it with the older version of the walkthrough where you looked through a peephole and saw the two goons staring back at you, but I'll just keep trying to find footage of this weird spear gag. EDIT: apparently the jumpscare happens at 2:54 and at the spear section. Apparently the gags just take a long time to happen which i guess makes them rare amongst visitors.

It was a whole lot dark😢 when I did this walkthrough..... pitch black except for the light from the projections in the windows. I had a hard time walking down the stairs. Are there certain times of the day when they have low lights on???

Honestly, people are gonna hate me but I believe they should make the sleeping beauty castle bigger or get rid of the walk through attraction and instead add something to it like a restaurant and a private vip suite in it, it’s too small to me, and I’m from California, when you look at the other castles and compare it, it’s too small, I would say keep the design and colors but make it bigger and taller, cause it really needs something to spice it up, and before Disney fans start get nostalgic and start saying things like “Walt Disney would turn over in his grave if they change the castle or do anything to the castle” or “but it’s iconic and shouldn’t be touched” let’s remember that Walt Disney said “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world”. And I believe maybe he would have updated the castle, then again maybe not, we’ll never know, but I believe that the castle should not be an exception to that Disney quote, and being that this is the OG castle, it deserves better, it deserves a major upgrade, and not just a refurbishment.

@@alfiovillordo350 first of all he bought the land in Florida for his Epcot city, but died so it ended up becoming Disney world, but it’s nothing like the original plans, and Disneyland is expanding if you haven’t noticed, and all I can say is haters are gonna hate, sorry you lack understanding and imagination 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
