A project I have been working on for a while, (I think probably since about October...) I finally had some motivation to finish it. They are soulmates, literally, a beautiful couple, despite you know what the staff gave us some amazing scenes.
Lan Wangji named Sizhui their adopted son*, which means, "to long for" or "to yearn for" and that's beautiful *I cry just thinking how much turmoil and suffering he must have put himself through thinking Wei Wuxian was dead for 13 years. Lan Wangji, the great producer of subtle love meanings.

Marian asteropea what makes it worse is that right before he runs, right when Lan Zhan is realising Wei Ying is thinking of falling off the cliff, he says "Come back." In English it seems straight forward, but he actually uses a gentle way of saying come back in Chinese. Usually Lan Zhan speaks formally, however this way of saying come back is informal and tentative, he's telling Wei Ying to come back in a meaningful, concerned and gentle way. So it's not just the worry on his face, the worry comes across too in how he asks Wei Ying to come back from the ledge.

I've never been as appreciative of being a female in this day in age more than seeing two men who love each other but can't express it because of social and cultural stigma's or being in a country where it can't be shown in a tv show, there were several moments where I was like just brush his hair to the side or gently touch his cheek but because of the censors and the cultural stigma's of men showing any kind of soft feelings towards one another they couldn't even do that, I am ranting because as a hetrosexual women I wouldn't feel awkward if I brushed a females hair out of her face or brushed her cheek if she's sad and the censors probably wouldn't bat an eye at that but put two men in the same scene and that's a big nope smh

Right? It is a testament to the astonishing physical beauty of Xian and both his and Yibo’s incredible acting skills that kicked this entire fifty episode series up to a whole unique level of greatness. Yibo especially managed to convey the deeply heartfelt yearning for Wei Ying, confined by his bred in the bone sense of honour. That said, Xian portrayed Wei Wuxian perfectly.

Beautiful. The one nit pick I have about wangxian is Lan Zhan did so much for Wei Ying, I wish Wei Ying had given a little more to Lan Zhan, you know? So it was more equal. But seriously one of my fave couples ever.

Wei Ying gave Lan Zhan (intellectual) freedom, he taught him to see the world as more than just black and white. By how Lan Zhan acts socially, I'm guessing Wei Ying was his first friend in general, let alone his soulmate as well. Of himself, Wei Ying gave Lan Zhan his trust and his heart, I think that's the most anyone can give someone.
