Bears often utilize spring-fed watering holes found here in the Swan Valley and elsewhere. These features are affectionately referred to as “bear baths”, and are believed to aid in temperature regulation during the hot summer months.
From years of placing camera traps on bear baths, we have noticed that black bears seem to utilize these water features more than grizzlies. In this short video, this black bear decided to use the spring as a great spot for their morning nap!
Throughout the month of November, your gifts to Swan Valley Connections allows us to continue supporting and promoting stewardship of suitable wildlife habitat in this critical ecosystem. #wildforwildlife
