Sir ji aapse ek humble request hai....every year one question is common that is difference between family and household. ..Plz aap ek seprate video banaye....as first three chapters are not taught in coaching same as this question. .....Plz aap 20 marks ke hisab se ek 10 se 15 minute ka seprate video banaye with thinkers and social perspective. ... ( though my request seems irrelevant but those who hv written mains would understand me in 2016 mains 30 marks questions was asked ) .....writing 2-3 point is easy but 20 marks questions creates problem .....Thx and I hope u will help ......I asked same question to a top faculty in Rajendra nagar but he could give 3-4 general points .....u r the last hope 👍✔✔👍

@@theacheiver4641 That's why I said One thing you can do now GO to UPSCPDF.com and type Vikas Ranjan notes and download the PDF of all 6 notes and "essential sociology" and buy "Applied Sociology Vikas Ranjan" this is for paper -2 bcz in pdf it's not properly scanned so better to buy from Amazon.....don't make notes form Sleepyclasses...Only take down some imp sentences or ideas Sleepy videos are for understanding

interesting question. some bases might not be actually applicable, but these are just my thoughts based on the majority trend: Residence - Neolocal : couples i know and have seen across media - get a new apartment Authority - Patri/matri: its fairly to imagine this as a function of the sex they belong to. (they anyway are staying away from their families. ) Name - I dont think this applicable in the modern era. Like sir mentioned it was a function of polygyny or tradition (think kunti-putra etc). Descent - Patrilineal for the individuals in a same-sex couple (they are carrying the family name of their respective fathers) However it gets interesting when the same sex couple adopts a child. Going by observation, I would say it is Multilineal since both partners want the child to carry their respective family names (Reference Modern Family - the popular TV show has one such example)

Please don't spread wrong knowledge. A conjugal family is a nuclear family that may consist of a married couple and their children (by birth or adoption) or a couple who are unmarried or underage. Conjugal means there is a marriage relationship. This definition is true sir
