16 months post op here, I feel like I can eat more, but nowhere near like back then, probably a third at best which is a lot less than before. It’s important to stay active, I run 3-4 times a week anywhere from 4-6 miles each time, that’s going to help a lot with the whole weight gain, you won’t gain anything if you stay active, a lot of people gain some of the weight back because they get comfortable with the food, but don’t bother working out, that’s just not going to end well.

Before I got my sleeve, I spoke with the nutritionist and she gave me a good tip. Use a salad plate to put your food on. You can’t pile it high. Make sure your food doesn’t pass the rim. I use a small plate and and Im satisfied eating just what’s on that plate. If you use a regular dinner plate, you can easily put too much food on it. 4:38

I had a BPD-DS in Aug. 2018 (about 2 1/2 years ago) with what I believe was a 54 bougie - if I remember correctly. Quite a bit higher bougie size than typically used in a gastric sleeve surgery, because BPD-DS patients need to eat more due to malabsorption. Think slimline sharpie vs. ballpoint pen.. I was concerned about my capacity and recently did two cottage cheese tests a few weeks apart, along with carefully measuring other foods and discovered my capacity is right around 6.5 Oz. I'm very pleased with this capacity. It's enough to enjoy a meal, albeit a small one, but still have enough restrictions to be full well before I consume too many calories.

I am so grateful for your channel. I am so grateful for the time and energy that you put into helping people who had the gastric sleeve. I went through a severe depression. I had my surgery, and I have not been able to talk to my surgeon cents I have my surgery June 30, 2023 every time I try to contact my surgeon someone else intercepts so I can never ask her a question directly, everything that has helped me along. My journey has come from your videos. I am going to search and see if you have a video about acid reflux. I think I’m having it but I’m not for sure. I seriously suspect I was scammed. I m trying to get a opinion on my surgery and I don’t get no one to confirm if I have surgery. My primary clinic does not even know what diagnostic to request.

A barium x-ray will be able to tell your doctors the state of your sleeve. I had one because I couldn't keep any solid food down after a few months. It was fine and I had to have liquids for a few weeks again, just to calm things down but seeing my new stomach on the films was pretty cool 😊
