Slice & Dice is an extremely underrated gem of a roguelike. It’s honestly one of my favorite deck building (or dice building) games I have ever played. However you might not have heard about it because it’s not on Steam and not many people have been talking about it.

It’s out, I love it. There’s a demo version available. I bought it on ios but I may buy it again from steam. The touch screen mechanics are good but I think I like the mouse better.

The only thing stopping this from being a 10/10 game is when it forces you to change class when you don't want to. So, only 9/10.

Brilliant game, I have bought paid for the full game (totally worth the $10). HOWEVER, the dice are NOT controlled by physics and they are prepredicted roles. I wish there was absolute randomness as the game somewhat decides what roles you will get and when. Maybe complete randomness would be 1. impossible to obtain or 2. somewhat undesirable in a game dev sense, but, I have come to expect particular roles over others against particular enemies and with particular items and class upgrades.

Wait is that true? I just assumed it was full RNG and then the dice animations where forced to be what RNG decided.

​@@TimeToGrind Yeah let me tell you what happened. I had noticed that sometimes the dice will roll and inexplicably switch directions on the fly. Really didn't think anything of it. But.... When I began the custom games, I was running 5 adepts. I was facing one last Quartz with 1hp left. My Sparky was the only ally that could damage the Quartz due to spell immunity. I played this for 20 minutes and I would continually only roll a sword if the Quartz rolled a shield, leaving me in a perpetual soft-lock. A better strategy could get around this I suppose, but I determined that the game did have an algorithm of sort and that the game isn't 100% random. Which is a shame.

@@TimeToGrind Another thing I noticed, although, not as sure on this one. But I believe that the game will do it's best to avoid the player rolling poison rolls as much as possible. You may notice that if you ever roll a poison roll that 1. You are more than likely able to just eliminate the enemy with damage, or 2. there's almost a guaranteed win against the enemy you're up against. Again, not sure on this one, but I rarely ever get poison when it could be useful, and if I do roll it theres almost always a better option than to use it.

Huh that's wild I honestly think that may be confirmation bias but I'm not sure I may have to ask the dev some point on their discord

isn't it maybe just making it so that if you've used or rolled poison once you'd be less likely to roll it on upcomming rolls so you are more likely to get one of each side in 6 rolls? or would the guy with poison nova and 3 poison be more likely to roll the nova side over the poison sides? what if you use the item that gives growth to the left side :p
