The nazis that was on trial was sold to death to allow other nazis to not go to trial just like many evil men from Japan who got away with the mess they did. These kind of videos need to keep being shown to remind people how things are and for the young people to know these things.

But unfortunately through history there are many Men who were evil and no one is interested. Look at The king of Belgium and the mess in the Congo republic. He was just as bad as The Kamoir Rouge killed about 5 million people of there own. Because of film we are fixed to the Jews when plenty of people through history have been done wrong.

Absolutely....I agree with you 100%........People were focused on what the Nazis did to the Jews. But why wasn't their Japanese counterparts to the Nazis ever pursued with the same vigor? Operation paperclip was in fact a deal with the devil, apart from Von Braun receiving sanctuary and immunity from the US, it is conveniently forgotten or omitted, and people weren't made aware, that the Americans went one step further and stole all of Dr Joseph Mengele's research and findings from all the experimentation on the Jews, which allowed the US to make massive bounds of break throughs in the medical field and even assisting to put a man on the moon, specifically using Mengele's findings of what happens to a human body when you put in a pressure chamber until the body literally explodes or implodes. That being said, with regards to the Japanese, once again, conveniently overlooked, the activities of Unit 731 which was headed by a man known as Surgeon General Doctor Shiro Ishii assisted by Lt. Genl Masaji Kitano. Now if you have the stomach for it, look up what these doctors did to their OWN people. This unit makes Mengele look like a Sunday school teacher. The allies were aware of all of this, but it was only Mengele who was half heartedly pursued to no avail. They were never brought to justice....The mere fact being, if there would be no benefit to the US or the allies it was deemed unimportant.

@@asullivan4047Good point. The ones that are still living are in their 90's. There aren't many and there's zero ranking officers still living. The majority of the surviving soldiers today were the Hitler Youth cadets that had been thrown into combat roles during the last phase of the war.

John Surrott who planned the Lincoln Assassination was the only survivor of that dirty deed. When he learned of Lincoln’s death, he immediately fled to Canada and on to the Vatican where he served as a Vatican guard. Eventually he returned home to Maryland (a Roman Catholic State) where he was tried in a civil court and released on a technicality. He lived the rest of his life contentedly. Maryland and Virginia had both contributed part of their land to serve as the District of Columbia despite the fact that Columbus never set foot on the North American continent. Robert Goddard invented the liquid fueled rocket in Grafton, MA. He looked for US funding to continue development. The US Army wasn’t interested and eventually met Charles Lindbergh at an air show who introduced him to the Guggenheim Foundation who gave him funding for monthly technical reports with the stipulation that what they did must never be used for other military use. The Goddard team went to work at the Mescalero Ranch at the White Sands Proving grounds in New Mexico. That's where the V2 design was refined and tested by Goddard's team at 1/5 scale by firing it Northward to a down range site in the USA. The only indication the British had was an intercept that it made a successful flight in South America, but didn’t believe it.. Hitler personally owned the down range site to the North. Werner Von Braun's team entered the US from the Mexican border.

Like Mitsubishi, Kawasaki and numerous German engineering and equipment companies…. familiar names in today’s companies. I recall a WW2 Marine co-worker who was in heavy battle in the South Pacific and a Japanese prisoner of war. When US automotive (late 70’s) started hosting Japanese auto builders and giving away trade secrets - they entertained Japanese visitors to their proving grounds. My co-worker was extremely upset because he experienced their murderous brutality to he and his fellow Marines. He called them animals and felt deeply betrayed. I was just a kid but really respected him and felt for his anguish. I will never forget that Marine. History recycles. Nobody in political power ever remember or learn from history.

Even so, if any nazi had something to offer in the lines of weaponry, technology or sciences was welcomed with open arms, slightly hypocritical but its what it is to be human. Far right wing and even nazi ideology is making a rapid comeback, mainly because of priority of foreign person's taking priority over nationals including migrants be it political or not in jobs, housing and benefits, seems that no matter what the human cost and suffering, governance doesn't learn s thing, just keeps repeating the same mistakes. As we comment here humanity is heading for another world war.

Von Braun died not as a war criminal but in America, where he was honoured, and his Nazi past covered-up and if any Americans feel slighted by my comment, don't be because the UK and Russia did much the same and sheltered any Nazi that had specialist knowledge or could be of use to them, as an old soldier it turns my stomach that the more you know and the more expert knowledge you have that can be useful to the victors, the less likely you were to face justice.

There was another von Alvensleben, who was altogether different. When my mother met his widow in a refugee camp, she was impressed with her grace and dignity; so much so that she said when she was old she hoped she would be like her. All she knew was that the lady had lost her husband in the War, merely one of many ...... Not so. This von Alvensleben had been executed because he was implicated in the Stauffenberg plot.

That is true, however the existence of these Germans were never acknowledged, they weren't given Russian citizenship and perks in contrast to the paper clip "anti-heroes". Moreover, CIA knew how the former Nazi german doctors responsible in the US space programme for the medical issues (like the impact of pressure on the human body) obtained their data in for aerospace medical research (in e.g. KZ Dachau). First time the names came out in media around 1985, but Dr Strughold medal of honour was not removed till 2006.

@boxlabs Dear friend Kammler was taken by Paperclip to the US, in fact he is in the same photo in which von Braun appears and many German engineers taken to that country.....Kammler will write a book under the pseudonym Erich Oppenheimer "E" rich for being the Oppenheimer of the East.... The book was called "Prisoners of the Atomic World" and is on the Internet. Kammler wanted everyone to know that he was the Oppenheimer of the East and that under his control of the project the Zentner 76 bomb, which in the West would be known as Little Boy, had been manufactured and tested. In fact, if you look for the photos of Tinian Island when the atomic bombs are being prepared to be launched, you will find many "strange" things, for example the presence of two Little Boys... the LI and the L II, the LI failed. test and the LII will be launched, the curious thing is that "LII" was painted with a brush and that it had stains in various places with a lighter gray color....they tried to cover the texts in German...the German one was launched and not the one from the USA, which was a copy of the first, but which did not pass the electronic test.....You just have to look for the photos, they tell a very different story.

No one knows about SS General Hans Kammler. Too many think a book or two from the local shop is the end of the story. That documents marked Secret and Top Secret during and right after the war contained no secrets! Now that many documents have been declassified, the rest of the story contradicts those books from the local shop. Get the book, The Hidden Nazi. You will find out how practical the Americans could be. By the end of the war, Kammler was the most powerful man in Germany after Hitler and Speer. He had to be hidden after falling into American hands.

I agree with others that the music overpowers the spoken words. If you can do so, I recommend that you remove the music entirely and then re-issue this video. And don't add "background" music to your future videos.

Really interesting about the scientists and the V2 rockets. A V2 rocket landed close to where I now live, killing thirty-eight people. It landed on residential buildings. One small point: Adolf Eichmann wasn't in charge of the concentration camps. He was in charge of emigration, and then later on he was in charge of deportation to the concentration camps. He was with the RSHA (the Reich Security Main Office), whereas the concentration camps were overseen by the WVHA, (the Head Office of Business and Economy), a different organization which was headed by Oswald Pohl.

The pope told the German people to vote for Hitler. There were SS officers who were priests. The pope not only supported the regime, but he instigated the war as a inquisition in disguise to get rid of Vatican enemies and Jews. Churchill was so angry with him for starting the war that the pope was not included in peace talks. Some Jews were sheltered by the Vatican as window dressing, just in case the Germans lost the war. Then they could say that they helped save Jews. An ex-Jesuit named Alberto Rivera shared this information. There were good-hearted Catholics, nuns, and priests, though, who saved Jews because it was the right thing to do.

You have to ask yourself, at least with Von Braun, did he join the Nazi Party and eventually the SS because he truly believed in it, or did he do so because he knew that it would be advantageous for his work? This is a man that seems obsessed with developing rockets, whether that's for peace or war it doesn't matter to him. His ambition is scientific advancement and in my view, where he went wrong is that there are some methods to achieving your goals that you shouldn't do. I'm not sure Von Braun ever truly understood that. Did he regret his chosen methods later on? I think to some extent he did, but I also believe he never really reconciled his actions.

A faith shouldn't be judged on the wrongdoings of some of its members or leaders. The horrendous actions by some Catholic leaders are outside the teachings of the faith. The Catholic Church was the first Christian church; it was established by Peter following Jesus's death and resurrection and is the cornerstone of all Christian churches. Because of its age and that it is run by sinful humans, it is unsurprising that some of its history is sordid. To the commenter who says she/he is questioning her/his faith because of the Church's history, I urge you to look to the Church's teachings rather than focusing on the evils propogated by a few evil leaders of the faith. These men do not represent the teachings of Catholicism. It's like finding a worm in an apple. Do you cut out the worm, perhaps throw out that apple, or burn the entire orchard? Should the one worm poison the whole orchard?
