It’s funny me finding this video, my 964 Speedster is in the shop now getting some paint work done. The shop owner asked me about doing a wide body. I love the look, but with a stock motor, it will make the car sluggish ( also with wider heavier wheels and tires, and or spacers). He said he wouldn’t do flares on the front it’s better to just replace with turbo front fenders ( 1800 ea, wholesale plus tax). The rear quarters were ( 3400 each plus tax, while the flares (Dansk) were $600 ea, plus tax, big difference. But more work to mold then using the quarters. After I added all the factory parts “965” ( wholesale), I was at 19k plus tax. Then labor, then a paint job “starting “ at 10k plus materials, then wheels and tires. Needless to say, I’m keeping my narrow body and cup rims. 😂.

He said the left quarter wasn’t available at the time. I don’t know what the lead time to get one made from Dansk ( Porsche ) would be.

Would you have better side-to-side symmetry if you had just done the arch flares on both sides? Yes, I realize more work.

I agree, this car is not symmetrical, it's a hodge podge rear end . Should've done the same both sides, no matter what method. For reselling purposes, a new buyer would be dubious

I was thinking the same thing, seems a bit odd going to all the work to replace a quarter panel on one side but only do an extension on the other side. Why not do extensions on both sides? I dont working or have experience in a body shop so I'm not judging just asking out of curiosity.

Quality ,just like the factory 930 Wide arch, was welded on.

Looking forward to this new sub from me. Just some feedback, stop jumping to different camera angles every few seconds it's not needed, and stops you from focusing on the work which is what we want to see
