Good work Mate. Once you get the hang of the wet, your overall karting skills increase, so much to learn about kart control. I used to hate the wet as I was slow, one day it clicked in my head now love the rain and am commonly one of the fastest in the wet in our Enduro's. Keep the great content coming.

God I did Clay pigeon abot 18 years ago in the rain with slicks, too about 148 laps to get use to it, ha ha ha. With open wheel biz karts aswell, so when I crash the steering tie rods snapped. Tyre wall shoulder deep in my visor. Though it was fun full speed down the straight 1cm off the kart in front and not being able to see the track ahead, I was crap.

Love the vid man! Pretty much sums up exactly how I felt my first time in the wet (also at Whilton too ironically). One thing for your visor fogging up couple be to get a pinlock insert for your helmet. I've used mine in awful weather (mostly on a motorbike) but it's never once fogged up even on the coldest, wettest days. Keep up the good work 👋🏾

Good vid mate! Really enjoyed doing the race with Sam and yourself! You should be proud of that last stint. your times were mega and consistent. Such an improvement on the practice session, which is still only a practice, so spins are ok. Means you're testing the limits when it won't cost you. Pretty sure every team had a load of spins at some point in that race, even the top guys. Still haven't recovered from my last stint drive through enema yet though.... 🤨

We will definatly have to do it again man, it was a blast

Great video man. I''ve done something similar a month ago, and felt quite the same. But after a while it's so much more fun in my opinion, as the lines change during the race + there is many of them!

Ha no way, really? Like I say I don't actually remember doing it just from the footage lol I know I went a little deep into the corner so hopefully I didn't cut you off or force you on the grass?

@@douglasroofing3867 yeah was my team's first endurance together as well and my first proper go in the rain lol where did you finish the race? Think we were 11th on track no idea where in class though

@douglas roofing I know your pain there lol I wish I had my first stint recorded, 1 point I spun on to the grass then as I got back on track I spun again 😂😂 I've never wanted to quit so much, good luck for the next race, I'd love to do it again but got no team for it

Done karting in the wet, didn't enjoy it as once wet through I got far too cold.

Yeah that's a problem with wet karting, if you're into doing it more maybe invest in a wet kart suit

@@CrazySkindogKarting yeah I kept thinking, I'm not gonna make it, I'm not gonna stop in time haha then all of a sudden out of nowhere it grips and turns
@CrazySkindogKarting2 жыл бұрын
@@LearnToRace haha!! Yeah, it's insane how you can have zero grip for so long, then all of a sudden, bam! The grip appears. The couple if times I've driven in the wet it really showed me just how hard I am on the throttle, it made me a better driver overall I think as I've been working on applying the throttle in a more controlled manner since and it seems to be making a difference to my times.

Its fun at your expense im sorry, but really youre the type of driver that just makes me smile at customer events in the wet. Literally not the foggiest idea of kart control and binning it on the outlap. Driving a wet line in karting try to think of corners like a v, forget about hanging the back end out on any grip on exit. Get deep in to the corner, get the rotation done, accelerate out basically turn the corner in to a V.

Yeah I was well outside my comfort zone on this 1, but being out my comfort zone is why I do it, and also like all my other videos I enjoy showing the not so good side of things and that things don't always go well or to plan, it's all part of the learning process I think by the end I was getting better, still loads to learn and miles off the pace of the quick guys but that'll come with more practice, thanks for the advice 👍
