It's just so hard to believe in DRX just cause of the history of the team falling short at the most crucial moments... like they missed out on both masters when they were just a match away from qualification both times. There's not enough hopium.

@@Rhovee ur right, i was scared they weren’t even gonna make it out groups cause of their curse of never making it past group stages but imo the old drx suffered from poor mentality. They constantly looked stressed and tilted during games. I think with these new younger players they won’t be as stiff anymore and will loosen up a lot.

I dont really get the map vetos for DRX vs Sen thats outlined here. Surely Sen will ban 2 of Abyss, Ascent and Haven. Drx will ban one of lotus and sunset and the 3rd map will be either be bind or icebox depending on which one DRX bans. Id be very surprised if Sen let Haven and Abyss both in.

I don’t think sliggy explained it too well but I think he’s right. Teams haven’t banned abyss because they think they’re gonna be good on it, but even if they do ban abyss in the second rounds of veto. We’ll have the 2 maps of Ascent for drx and lotus for Sen with bind/icebox being the last map (which are both 50/50’s but Drx can choose which one they’d rather play becuase they were the higher seed and get to choose in which order the teams ban probably leading to them banning the last map) From what I understand sliggy thinks that it is less likely for Sen to win ascent then it is for Drx to win lotus, so if the last map is 50/50 the only outcome you can try to observe is which team has the higher chance to 2-0, which in his eyes, is Drx. (Also abyss might not just be banned becuase like I said it’s a new map, teams have been anti stratted and might think that they could pull the map out and win even agasint a great abyss like Drx’s espeically cuz Sen has never showed their abyss)

Imo LEV win against G2, because its a matchup they are used too, so it would be less likely to be flip floppy in terms of playing around their prep in game. LEV have seemed like a team that flounders against “new” teams or teams who they haven’t played against the style of. Their map pool against G2 is pretty good, They have started banning bind(LEVs worst map and a good map for G2) and G2 still do not seem super comfortable playing against a neon. And G2 have never reliably shut down Aspas, so imo if it comes down to the value Aspas gets, LEV should take the match

@@LawsonSims44 LEV lost the Bo3 1. Because they weren’t playing well, and 2, G2 picked bind, LEVs worst map. I don’t think that will happen again, and I do not think G2 r going to be able to beat LEV again on Icebox. On Abyss and Ascent, I would favor LEV because Aspas is absolutely ridiculous on jett and has singlehandedly won games on the agent. On Haven and Lotus, the pace of the neon has caught G2 off guard a ton, and I’m not confident that G2 will be able to beat it, however I would favor them on those maps than Abyss or Ascent simply because Aspas’ neon is not as strong as his jett

after looking at recent matches, i'm back on underrating G2 (i'm a day1 g2 hater sorry)... also good to mention that in all VCT bo5s this year that had one team with double ban (thus excluding kickoff where both teams got 1 ban), 4/10 lower bracket teams win. the double ban is not a curse, but seems to be not a huge buff.

Haven being fnatics best map and they still don’t look that dominant on it (this tournament) gives me no way to cope for them, I would favour sen in the sen v drx considering Sen have good track records against apac teams and If they get lotus first map I can imagine they get a momentum to win next map I quite frank seeing sen atleast coming top 3 or winning Idk I think Sen TH are just miles ahead of these teams so seeing them in the grand finals which I truely don’t know who would win bc they have similar map pools It’ll definitely be a 3-2 to which ever team

I want to ask how in hell does anyone believe in fnc they really aren’t that good they are at best top 8 the only team they could probably beat is trace who would only lose because they lack experience on stage. Lev are literally just better in every way. G2 are also better, they have better strats better teamwork and better mid rounding. Drx literally turned them to paste Team heretics are looking much better than in stage 2 playoffs and if the right players step up they can easily win Edg have been looking insane but if they start slow fnc could win. Sen just turned geng and fpx to dust with little effort so they more than likely would beat fnc All fnc have done is beat kru and blg and get destroyed by drx there is no way anyone believe they are a top 4 team. Team heretics lev, g2, Sen, drx, and edg all have looked better and played better opponents.

In reality, it’s more like a battle of maps and playstyle. Teams counter each other either intentionally or not. Just like last year Fnatic could beat EDG and EG, but EG (even EDG) bear LOUD. That still doesnt mean those teams are better than FNC last year. LOUD simply counterstrated them/broke their playstyle.

Teams like Sen, g2, th, and drx, are just better because their gameplay is just better they follow their gameplan perfectly, have great teamwork, and have great mid rounding while proving it against actually good teams. If you watched the games edg, lev, and trace also have this. And they’ve shown it against actual competition. Fnatic have only played against blg, who they destroyed, drx who they got destroyed by and kru who could have beat them is derke didn’t have a life game. In the drx game specifically their teamwork and gameplans were just bad. There were several times the players didn’t play together and it costed them abyss. Their gameplans were also never fully utilized because the team just didn’t executed them properly. Against worse teams this is fine but against the better teams they will just lose as they almost did against kru. Fnc rely too heavily on hero plays by individual players which in this meta is the worst thing you can do because top teams have the teamwork to shut down these hero plays. Fnc has no reason to be considered a top 4 or even 6 team. Aside from the fact they used to dominate last year. They are unproven in this meta and don’t deserve to be in the competition to win the tournament. Because they are just not good enough.
