On the original (JP) he says something like on how when he wake up he was already fully repaired, he doesnt know who or what but something someone had repaired him (and it wasant his own system since the damage was beyond the auto repair capability). That someone is obviously hinted to be willy "ghost" or "Ai" (like what happened to X on the end of X5) as hes the only one who would be capable of fully rebuilding zero from the state he was in.

I mean, to be fair to X6 it was suddenly sprung on them, and at this point would anybody *really* be happy if X6 didn't have Zero as a playable character when X4 and X5 do? From a story standpoint, it makes sense, but from a gameplay, functionality and feature based perspective, it wouldn't have back then. If MMX6 were made in today's gaming climate though, you can bet Zero would have been cut and released as DLC later.

When you watch Day of Sigma and see how at first Sigma was focused on X's potential to evolve and how it could lead to the evolution of reploids, then you come to his obejective in this game and realize that he was looking at the WRONG REPLOID all this time and changed his view from X to Zero thanks to (Wiley's help). Amazing job there Sliider. I am amazed at how you mastered avoiding Sigma 1st form attacks so well. I do fairly well however when he starts throwing those blue waves at me I have a hard time mostly the ones where you have to dash through middle on. His 2nd form not too hard especially when I use Zero just slash him to death.. well that is what Zero does to everything else but yeah slash everything in sight.

You see Zero and X are the originals of their kind but they were not considered reploids. you see reploids were made by Dr.Cain as to try and copy Zero and X`s design free will and blah blah. Is a long complicated story but the reason why in the series Zero and X are referred to as reploids is to avoid confusion in their universe that is. Is a lot I recommend you find some more info on the Mega Man wiki you will find the stuff there. Even though the two of them are not reploids it is fine to refer to them as such. Also notice that is why everyone Sigma included do not know how Zero and X work it is because they are not reploids so yeah.
