I think that repainted komatsu, was in a potash pit digging out fertilizer components for the stick and bearings to be eaten that bad. If it's a "local" machine, it's a very good chance of it having been used for such.

So I guess my first thought about an equipment show in Vegas would come from my 20 years running a mining claim about 40 miles north of Kingman, AZ. Most places out there don't have much dirt. You got a foot or so then you hit either caliche or bedrock and that stuff is really hard on equipment. I spent as much time fixin' stuff as I did actual mining and moving dirt.

I remember my pops taking me to military auctions back in the 60's and 70's most were torn up from "non friendly" fire power...holes the size of my pops fists...at one auction he got 3 M5 halftrack support transports for 50 bucks apiece needed ALLOT of TLC but my pops love messin with old stuff...we still have them and they run better than they did in the field! AND look prettier too...the grand daughters love to paint...

Back in the 60s-70s my Uncle welded on the ones at the mines He ran F350 super duty 4X4 he own 3 of them with flat beds with Lincoln welder that had to be 5-6 foot long he had pictures where his trucks look like toys next to them.
