Love this! A steel guitar is wonderful to listen to. This is what real country music is!! The crap they play and sing today is terrible and they should be ashamed calling it country music!!

Great Job Here Tony. Slim was a friend and a neighbor for many years. Couldn't travel across the country to attend his funeral at the time, however I have, in respect, since visited his gravesite. Thank you Tony for this great memory, C.W.
@tonybpr317 жыл бұрын
Thanks again C.W. It was listening to an old Slim Whitman 78 record many years ago that got me into country music and later, steel guitar. Fortunate enough to see Slim in the UK on a few occasions. One of the country legends who'll never be equalled in with unique , relaxed style.

I agree with Judith Rupple. The steel guitar can be very sad and melancholy, but it’s also very relaxing and soothing. Wish I had the talent and ability to play one myself.

Wonderful, love it. Country music doesn't get any better than on the pedal steel. God must be a cowboy for He made this great music possible.
@MrPatdeeee4 жыл бұрын
"God" was only on planet earth for 30 yrs and there were NO "cowboys" in those days. In fact America did not even exist until 1900 yrs later. Please do not blaspheme Jesus (who is God almighty) to make your points. Incidentally, all the talents ("gifts") that exist, were given by Jesus at birth. Oh indeed yes. So whenever ANY one does well like this steel player, give the cause to Jesus. For the talents did not do it. He did. Praise His Holy Name.
@debbielynne52764 жыл бұрын
Jesus, Son of God, has no problem with me saying He must be a cowboy, and they have been around much longer than you know. As long as there have been cattle and men tending to them there have been cowboys. They don't have to be Americans.

Wonderful! Slim, the best, thanks for playing this 🤗
When I was homesick doing basic training at Rantoul, Ill. air base I would go to the airman's club and play Slim Whitman records. He lived about 30 miles from where I was born in Florida. He was always a favorite of mine. I never understood why some people made fun of his singing. Just meaness, I guess. I'm glad to know that he enjoyed a long life. He was very popular in Europe, moreso than in this country.
