Slim Whitman sang for his fellow servicemen under duty in WW2. He was just as scared as they were, but he brought som comfort to them. Years later decorated soldier Audie Murphy tormented with memories of the war found relaxation and got to sleep listening to Slim. A little more more important than the Martian movie, that almost made fun of him. I grew up with Slims early records at home, and I still enjpoy them, no matter how some people might think of him.
