Well, I adored how Barbara served that lovely song in Rotterdam. But still I was expecting Slimane to top that. The thing is that although of course his voice, his passion, his charm, the whole visual was truly stunning as expected, I couldn't escape being constantly distracted by how much he changed the melody. If this was the first time I ever heard this song, I would definitely fall in love with it cause it's amazing. But since I knew and loved the song before, I would have preferred Slimane to have stayed more loyal to the original melody and show more respect to the composer. This was not a cover. It's a new song. Not a bad song at all. But new. He didn't need to change the melody. I'm sure he had the notes, he would have done great. Missed opportunity. Now I'll stay with a huge unsatisfied thirst to hear the actual voila by Slimane's godly voice :(

@@CrowleasPour moi c'est tout l'inverse qui s'est produit, je n'ai jamais réussi à écouter la version originale, et surtout je précise un point, rien à voir avec le talent de Barbara que je trouve adorable ni des personnes qui ont écrit et composé la chanson, mais un truc faisait que lorsque j'essayais de l'écouter, j'accélérais la vidéo, ça n'accrochait pas du tout, je ne savais pas du tout de quoi ça parlait bref, et là, avec Slimanej'ai découvert cette cette chanson j'adore trop cette version de slimane.

Both just blow me away!! I love the passion and visceral emotion of both. Barbara's has so much energy, I feel as if I am witnessing a hurricane in action, the explosive snap of her feeling. Slimane's, on the other hand, is like the march toward the inevitable, less frantic but no less powerful. They're both so impactful!!

Thanks to Barbara pravi I fell in love with the concept of the album. I owe her discovery and the way I listen to music to eurovision, Barbara and this song.
