This is Space Slime! (aka Magnetic Slime, or Meteorite Slime!)
This is a science experiment from my book Stay Curious and Keep Exploring and is great for kids ages 5-12.
Materials
Book: amzn.to/41waqKp
White Glue: amzn.to/3BqtDCF
Baking soda: amzn.to/3W1mKBk
Iron filings: amzn.to/3M5U59A
Eye contact solution: amzn.to/3IaBUhM
Strong magnet: amzn.to/3M75Wo9
Instructions
(1) In a bowl mix 1/3 cup white glue with 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, and 2 tablespoons of water
(2) Mix in 2 tablespoons iron filings
(3) Mix in 3/4 tablespoon of eye contact solution (make sure it's the type of eye contact solution with boric acid in it).
Now bring your magnet close to your slime! You can see the coolest effect if you let the magnet hover over the slime slightly allowing your slime time to rise up to meet it.
Safety
Be careful when holding a magnet! Keep magnets away from small children, pets, and electronics! The magnet I linked is especially strong, which means it will have a powerful pull towards metals and can pinch fingers if you get between it and a metal. You can use less powerful magnets with this experiment if you like.
