But I had 10 hearts with Marlon and didn’t get any cutscene until I looked into it, saw people talking about a raint day requirement. So I threw out a rain totem, and went to the guild the next day and got the cutscene. But again, maybe I’m just playing on an older version. I’m interested to see how Sal gets his sewer key.

Just bc Marnie does accept lewis’s situationship proposal; does not inherently mean she SHOULD. Lewis is a grown man, and it’s a small town. Js records like taxes on local businesses would be public knowledge; so if the village thought something was goin on, they could find out. Hell theyd make it a request on the big mission board. Marnie does deserve better; she deserves to be loved openly and proudly.

As he puts it, “If this gets out it could *undermine my position of authority* in the town”. It seems more like he’s worried for his job, evidenced by how the next line is Marnie saying he needs to focus on other things in life than his job. Marnie does deserve better, because it really seems that Lewis is doing it for his own good. Not that it would really even matter, both of them are single adults, fairly respected among the townsfolk (even if Lewis is pretty hated among the fandom community and is.. corrupt, it isn’t spoken about and he’s been an uncontested mayor for years) so it doesn’t really make sense for him to hide it?

Yes, yes, THANK YOU. Also, how is dating marnie going to be a blow to his reputation? Like. Make it make sense. It's illogical and a poorly made up excuse. If you can't date, then don't date! But lewis wants his piece of cake. Also, saying that marnie loves lewis as a rebuttal for how lewis treats her and how she deserves better is just poor reasoning imo. Loving someone that treats you poorly doesn't take away from the fact that you do, INDEED, deserve better. Hence, marnie still deserves better regardless of her feelings for lewis. What can be said is that they're both two consenting adults, and that they want something from their partners that they can't provide. Lewis can't and doesn't want to give marnie the commitment she wants. Marnie can't give lewis a relationship that's half serious and hidden from everyone they know. Marnie definitely has the shorter end of the stick but they do both need to get out of their heads. Marlon would make such a better partner for marnie but marnie thinks she deserves someone like lewis. Lewis needs to get his shite together and maybe try to do his job.

yeah i was searching for this comment. feels like sal didn’t actually read the dialogue and try to comprehend it. lewis and marnie make it super obvious that it isn’t about not wanting to drag marnie down, it’s about lewis’ status as mayor. it could be said that it would maybe have a negative effect on marnie if other farmers or townies decided marnie dating lewis meant that she gets special privileges, but that’s clearly not why he cares about hiding it. it’s extremely selfish of him to make marnie suffer like that when it’s literally just two consenting adults having a relationship… i highly doubt it would affect approval ratings or whatever and it barely even seems like the town has anything negative to say about lewis as a mayor, only players do.

You need to enter the Adventurers guild with 5 hearts with Marlon to unlock the rusty key. The wiki says anytime because the Key to the Town exists. The adventurers guild just needs to be open and the player needs to walk in.

Nice vid! I put a chest in the entrance of the skull cavern so I can leave my buffs, warp totems, and trading items there. then I drop off farming things I don;t need before going in. It frees up a good 5 spaces while mining

The thing with Lewis and Marnie is that he doesn't say that he doesn't want to get her in trouble, but that he's afraid it would undermine his authority. I think that if he genuinely cared, he wouldn't say something that sounds so self-centered. Also, just because a woman loves an asshat doesn't really justify his asshattery or negate the fact that she could do better than him, and keeping yourself in a toxic relationship in the name of love isn't the least bit romantic, or healthy. Sorry, touchy subject, so I had to get a bit triggered about a cluster of pixels treating another cluster of pixels poorly in a videogame 😜

Going to have to add that swamp expansion mod to my mod collection, especially considering has content for the "Alecto the Witch NPC" mod I already use lol. Side note for anyone who wants a few standalone custom NPC mod (IE just 1-2 new NPCs without expansions) recommendations Ayeisha the postal worker is a favorite since it's neat seeing her deliver mail, Jorts and Jean - a pair of goofy talking cats (best for a new playthrough since they have interactions in Joja Mart), and Lucikiel whose heart events I won't spoil but one of said events makes Clint more likeable IMO.

One mod I like that might help your ring issue is the More Rings Mod, which allows you up to 6 rings. You can't easily grab the rings you are wearing to forge them with others, you need to move them to your inventory first, but beyond that, it is helpful, though a bit cheat-y. Also, you are getting closer to meeting one of my SVE characters! You meet him once you make it to the Island Forge. Sadly, my absolute favorite you won't meet until year 3, no matter what you do.

The Salal Berries are extremely profitable, yeah. You get can get a random amount of them from 2-4, but the upper limit is increased by one every 2 farming levels, meaning at level ten it's actually 2-9 berries per harvest, so an average of 5.5 berries per harvest, or 112 gold per day. It's kinda broken.

So... Luck doesn't affect the odds of a hole (it does affect ladders, which holes replace), monster spawn rate, or prismatic shard drop rates. It just seems like you get more, because you see more floors than in bad luck days, and more ore (I think)

It's a really efficient way of keeping continuity while fast forwarding. If I can make a single recommendation, when you skip part of the trip to somewhere sometime it's disorienting time-wise. Maybe put a small text like "2h later" or something I dunno. Also, there are a lot of remixes of the stardew valley songs so maybe it could shake up the music?

There’s a fashion sense pack that has animated cat ears that you could use And still get to change your hat with the season. to do with slime ranching there is a mod that adds extra drops to the slime ball things in the hutch if you go through the process of breeding iron slimes and such it is called slime produce. I dont have a game where i have tested in myself but there are a lot of options for if you only want to have specific ones checked for in the hutch

In my play through the Marlon rusted key cut scene would not fire in the first year. Not sure if that was intended by the mod writers or there was other conflicts, but it did fire spring year 2.

I know Pierre said a graveyard's no place for a lady, so her saying he only wants her to help with dinner because she's a girl is a fair assumption to make... but maybe they want her to help with dinner because she's an adult and doesn't seem to have a job. it's more than fair for them to expect her to help with housework regardless of her gender.
