Super excited for the finish and the STI build!! Glad you found some hangar space!

The thicker panel is probably due to higher heat exposure on that side of the engine. That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it. Hey congrats on the kit fox kit. That sounds like a much more kick back and have fun flying type of plane. Whereas the Tsi is better suited for cross country and family trips. Either plane you will love since it means you will be flying. You can always move to a different hangar later on if something comes through. Until then at least you will have a place to du the final assembly and a hanger to fly out of. So now you have two more reasons to get the Tsi finished. A hanger to put it in and the kit fox. Now I wonder if you will get your kitfox done before Nick gets his new one done?

Perry Pike I’m not sure I’m on board with your panel thickness theory lol. But that’s ok. Stoked for the kitfox, I really doubt I’ll even be halfway through it before he finishes though! I don’t know who nick is though, so maybe I’m wrong?

The Airplane Factory is very lucky to have you as a customer. You have the patience and talent of a competent Beta Tester. I hope they're acknowledging that. Kitfox! Will you be bringing us along for that build as well?

EJWash thanks man. I will certainly be doing these videos along the way for the kitfox build as well 😎

Whoohoo! Maybe have some hanger space? Good luck, Evan! You will be airborne in no time! Then the Kitfox starts this winter!:-)

That's great progress and good luck with that hangar. I totally get the Kitfox STi 915 to go with the TSi. That's both my dream missions covered. Once the build videos are done, hope you do some flying videos. I'm sure these 2 birds will take you to some amazing places 😜

Wow! Great surprise and GREAT progress on the Sling. Are you now building full time? You sure make great progress from week to week. Can you share any further thoughts on why a second build and why you chose the Kitfox? Looking forward to the new project. I have enjoyed the Sling build and your thought process throughout the build. All the best !
@EvanBrunye4 жыл бұрын
John thanks man. Kitfox is only 20 minutes away from me, so that was definitely part of it. I think the mission for kitfox is better suited to the area I live in now than a TSi for more frequent use. They’re totally different planes with totally different missions and build processes, so I thought it would be a fun next project and a natural progression

Thanks for putting these up. Have you a nice colour scheme in mind yet?

Ya I’ve got a scheme in mind. But it’s a secret for now 😎

What?? I own a Comanche 250, looking to build a Sling TSI.... apparently I need to make more money! You basically have a complete TSI and now an STI kitfox. All joking aside, I enjoy your build videos and hope to follow the Kitfox build.

I’ve been following you since the beginning of the sling. Your knowledge of it all is amazing. I’ve often doubted if I could do it myself. Part of my doubt is $. I’m middle age, have a large chunk of savings and a pension. Yet I sometimes wonder if 1 plane is a sensible purchase let alone 2! Rich? Super great job? Sugar momma? Inheritance? Sorry for the personal question. I know it’s not my biz but it’s killing me.
@EvanBrunye4 жыл бұрын
Slappy Happy thanks man. But none of the above are the reality. I had a string of extremely lucky decisions, followed by a string of extremely reckless decisions (buying and building planes 😂)

Budget and timing @slappy happy. I’m doing an RV -14a. Company write-off, buT it’s all about planning. Regarding Evan, this is one of the FEW build channels I really enjoy!
@michaelm24414 жыл бұрын
@@paulbrunner1818 Could you explain what you mean by "Company write-off"? Are you building the airplane as part of your company?

Congrats on the new kitfox.. But it brings me to my question.. Why no parachute??? I was assuming it was a money issue but seeing how your jumping into 2nd build this dosent seam to be the case.. So real interesting to know your thought process on that choice???
@EvanBrunye4 жыл бұрын
Dan Schofield useful load and storage space. The parachute cuts down on both significantly. This plane is newer, and much higher quality than any of the planes I’ve flown consistently and they didn’t have parachutes. That was pretty much the thought process behind it. However, if I were to do it again I’d probably go with the parachute. I put the cables in this one so if I change my mind I can add it fairly easily.

@@EvanBrunye totally get it... Weight is always an issue. Thanks for the reply 👍

Evan, for the cost of a Sti you could secure a 99 year lease at an airport and build a four airplane hangar. In Australia we get tax exemptions on our superanuation funds (self funded pensions), not sure of USA tax laws. However you could establish a $2.00 company, (perhaps in a tax free vehicle (company)) and build a hangar, and rent out the excess space. Not unlike Australia, often hangar space is at a premium, so investing in hangars can be a Very nice annuity return on your capital. Talk to your tax advisor, first. Drop me a note if you want to discuss further. PS. another good week of building, looking very nice.
@EvanBrunye4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice man. Unfortunately there isn’t even any land available for lease at the local airports either! I don’t think I can afford to build a hangar right now anyway, but it’s definitely something I have my eyes on for in the future!
