Lead balls are the best. As a child in my grandfather's basement I was heating 3/8 steel slingshot ammo with a blowtorch then squeezing two blocks of hardwood around it in a vice,making a mold. Since old .177 pellets were everywhere...all I had to do is grab a broon sweep up a little for the lead. The finished 3/8 lead balls shot out of sight with my vintage wrist rocket !!
