Hi Nathan it's Robert Bussiere again, up here on Ontonagon MI it's about 25 below zero with the wind chill. I just went outside and shot about 30 rounds with simple shot black, I must say that it is some damn good latex For slingshots, it's probably the best latex for slingshots ever made!

Your cannon is neat and the data is clear. It would be good to see draw weight included in your data and data for your other band sets also. Perhaps that is planned in the near future. Your educational component is a great service for all of us.

Great video and I just received my New SCOUT X and order from SIMPLE-SHOT today. I ordered 1/4” Steel Shot and .7 MM Band set that I intend to leave at Full 10” to make the draw pull as light as possible because of a shoulder injury, I watched many of your videos and I hope I selected the correct combinations.
@Faustj515
@Faustj515 Жыл бұрын
You are kind of missing the point. You would be much better off using a band set that SimpleShot sells that is sized for 1/4 inch ammo or one designed to shoot 5/16 ammo. I would size them to get an elongation factor of 4. You will have the light draw that you are looking for but get much higher velocities. The 5/16 band set will last longer than the 1/4 inch set and both will draw easier than the .7 band.
@simpleshot
@simpleshot Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. You should get the Lite Flat Bands 1/4" for the 1/4" Steel Ammo. It will be much more pleasant to shoot. The Standard Flat Bands 7/16" are much too strong for 1/4" Steel Ammo.

Great info! I would love to see a video where you try and seek out the most velocity, as a slingshot hunter I have been playing around with ammo and bands, I use .7mm and 7/16 ammo but I'd still love more power. I think I'm going to find my ideal setup with .6mm tapered bands and 3/8th ammo but I would love any suggestions.

There may have been a slightly higher speed with the last shot if it wasn't stretched for as long a time as it was. I tend to hold my draw for 5 seconds as it seems to slow the bands down a fraction to stop me shooting over the top of the target. We need a really scientific video testing band length, tapers, time held and any other variables smarter people can think of😂. Another great video nathen

This just goes to show that sometimes less is more in terms of performance and six inches is pretty much the ideal length.
@simpleshot
@simpleshot Жыл бұрын
That just depends on the users draw length. 6 inches could be way to long for a shooter with say a 26 inch draw length. If they are after speed, they will need to trim it down some more.

@james6028

for optimum power you want to be at the max elongation for whatever elastic you are using. probably closer to 6x but your bands wont last very long and the draw weight will be very heavy!

It will depend on the max elongation of the latex. 500% is ideal for band life vs speed for our latex we sell and use for bands.

Should my clay practice ammo weigh the same as my target ammo? Clay ammo is 3/8 ths of an inch and aprox 1 gram and 1/4 th of an inch steel is aprox 1 gram. So more weight than size matters is that correct?

So serious question I have the scout x and find that it’s super consistent with clay ammo and clay bands but I’ve recently switched to 7/16 bands with 11mm steel and it’s still consistent but the sight reference is way off I can group solid just not actually hit what I want any suggestions
@simpleshot
@simpleshot 7 ай бұрын
You may need to change your anchor point. You can also shorten your bands but the 7/16" Steel Ammo will drop at a closer distance since it is heavier than the Clay Ammo.
