your pots are fun. I do a lot of slip casting, one thing I like to do is pour colored slip on a plaster slab and wait for it to harden enough for me to cut designs into the slip, then I take the cut out designs and apply them to the inside walls of a mold, then fill the mold with slip. you can't let the slip shapes harden too much or they will not stick to your walls. I think you would enjoy this technique as well.

That's a great idea! I've seen some pots made that way and I should put it on my list of things to try.

Great, I have tried this but put the coloured slip into ketchup bottles which I find easier to fling around. I have also used a toothbrush for finer dots. You don't use red, any reason for that or just don't like the colour?

I do have a bunch of squeeze bottles, and I had some regular slip already loaded up in one. It did work well. Since I'm using my colored slip for several different things (and haven't mixed up any more since my original colored slip experiments) I so far have just left it in the small tubs. That is also why I don't have red (or other colors) - I originally just got black, blue and yellow Maison stain and have been using them. I did pick up some oxides recently, mostly to try in glaze, but I might also try some colored slip with them as well.
