Beautiful and inspiring. Two good souls who truly helped each other at their darkest hour and most vulnerable moments. Fall rescued Adam from his suicidal situation, helped him to fight the addiction which would have killed him ultimately. Fall gave Adam all the support he needed to feel worthy and believe in himself again. When Adam got driven away by Fall's family he didn't go back to his old ways. He started working his way up and was able to buy and set up Slipaway for Fall. He then rescued Fall from the institution where she would have pined away and died lonely and sorrowful. Adam gave Fall the final chance of realizing her dream of sailing out on the ocean...a dream she and her late husband had cherished throughout their lives. A deep and extremely moving film. Just beautiful the way Fall and Adam became true family for each other. Fall was the loving supportive Mother that Adam never had in his childhood. Adam was the caring and protective child that Fall never had despite having a daughter of her own. This is a story of true love because it's the kind of love where one builds the other up... It's about the kind of love where both 'give' and really want the best for the other.. Where there is a genuine sense of caring, respect and never a desire to control. I'm blown away by the acting...so authentic and worthy of the highest awards. Indeed, I'm so impressed by the directing and every single aspect of this film... It's a privilege to have been able to watch such a fine work of art. I salute everyone who was involved in the creation and production of this amazing and precious film. We need to listen to the wishes of our elders and really see what their dreams are. It is all not only about what we think is best for them but what their wishes are. Unfortunately this is not what most children do for their parents. Parents spend their whole lives dedicating themselves to their children only to be treated with such negligence. Often children are more after preserving wealth for themselves than making the last years of their parents lives their most beautiful ones! We need to create a healthy balance. This film was amazing.

I understand. I am 80 yrs old and had a stroke a few months ago and my right hand/fingers are numb and my memory is affected. I have a lot of forgetfulness. My family doesn’t let me drive anymore, so I feel somewhat isolated. Fall reminds me of a girlfriend I have, she even resembles her. This movie is so good!

It is heartbreaking when when family members are not there for when elderly parents need them the most. It is highly commendable when strangers step in and gave unconditional love. It is so sweet that Fall touched Adam's life and brought about such positive change and Adam touched her life in fulfilling her dream and leaving her smiling! Sadly too many seniors are estranged by off springs.

SLIPAWAY is a wonderful metaphor... initially sounded lost, floating aimlessly like the two main characters... then concluding into following one's true dreams and SLIPAWAY and sail away and go where the "wind will carry on"! I don't think I have cried so much in one single movie ever. So tender such a special bond between the e I am so glad I decided to watch this inspite of not being familiar with the cast. Both the actors were brilliant. I just think that the end was unrealistic to make the ending a happy one. Where did Adam find the money to buy the boat how did he manage to take fall away from the old age home and why would be let her sail by her self knowing she had dementia

It happened to me, when someone in the family understands and supports you as an adolescent, somebody also contradicts and undermine you, But as goodness always win , We best learn the ways of life from those who believe in you, and we mislook the more important perspective of goodness and goodwill because of the experiences we have had from those family members that doesn't welcome our existence. Os filhos estavam somente preocupados com os bens materiais e nem um pouco preocupados com os sentimentos da mãe, com o que ela queria, o que ela desejava e nem sabiam da saúde dela! Quando ela abriu a caixa que a filha falou que mandaria, pelo aniversário dela, eu já pude perceber que tipo de filhos ela tinha e não era um cartão de aniversário, mas, sim, um ingresso para uma casa de repouso. Que triste! Mas, encontrou alguém que foi um filho para ela e um filho que a amava, que se importava com ela! Que sirva de exemplo pra muitos filhos que não se importam com os pais! Lindo filme!
