Ahhh man, does this song and this bands entire first album remind me of a simple and a happier time. But at the same time, listening to it again brings those happy feelings of discovering this band as a young kid. Now I’m in my 20’s but I will always fucking love Slipknot. I was kinda saddened over the years by the issues the band began to have after Paul Grey’s Death. It seems like the band was just never fully able to cope with his loss. I still love them to death but the original #9 will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️

Man I can remember getting a copy of Slipknot's demo tape when I was in high school because a friend's dad worked at a record company. It had Surfacing and Spit it Out and that was it if I remember correctly, at that time it was the best thing I'd ever heard and still believe that to be true even today. I saw them at Ozzfest 99 in Atlanta and they were only on second stage, they should have definitely been on main stage with Fear Factory and Slayer. They had them playing really early in the day too. Man, I remember the day this album came out finally, I was in Chicago for the summer and bought that first copy just as they were putting it down on the rack. The guy had never heard of 'em. Good times, man. Those were the days, before I joined the Marines and before the Global War on Terror which flipped my whole life upside down. Slipknot... unequivocally the best band in our generation, my own opinion of course. I can't believe its almost been 20 years. Here's to another 20!
