I love easy stitches that make pretty patterns. Granted it's a lot of rows, but I'm doing a 12 row baby blanket right now that's not intimidating so this shouldn't be either :)

is it possible to do the cables in a different colour than the background?

That is a great question! Actually, I wondered about that myself as I was knitting this pattern. I believe it should be possible but have not tried it. Would think that you would introduce the different color when you get to the cable twist part and then would need to carry it through (as yarn floats) in the back or use different skeins (or small bobbins of that color yarn, since you not need much of that color yarn). I am going to try this out and will definitely do a video on that, if I land on a decent technique! Thanks and best wishes!😊
