Slipped out of gear Johnson 55hp 1979 part 3

Your video's are very intresting to watch, i have exactly the same engine also a 79. Bought it with shift problems so i took the lower unit off and drained the oil but more water than oil came out. I completly took it apart, the upper bearing in the driveshaft was completly destroyed and rusted and the nut that holds the pinion gear broke in two. Luckely the gears and shift dog look fine. Waiting for parts now, new bearing and seal's. Seems like you got alot of experience with this motor over the years. Do you stil have it?

Yes still got it! Taken it apart a few times and its going strong at the moment! Good luck with the fixes when the parts come
