This is by design, as to reach the higher goop realms and meet our creator, we must become slimy on the outside too... and yet we never figured it out. We were like cheap imitations of the one true goop, lacking that signature sticky, slimy, and gelatinous texture of His Goopiness. He tried to entertain us so that we would be motivated to become sludge. Instead, we just sat there mindlessly watching. That's when Charlie realized that we were nothing but living failures. That's when Earth had to go.

During his time experimenting with disguises other than his true Eldritch form, he gooped into a sewer system where the rats taught him their ways of life, religion (or religions if you want to take into account the division between the cheddar chasers and the mozz (arella) monchers), and most importantly, their school systems. Enrolling in 25 rat years of schooling (9 months) Charles Rathew Slimecicle graduated with a bachelor's in cheese mold and acquired a PhD in Ratology. This behavior still stumps Slmccl studiers today, as Slmccl made rats. However, I believe this is could be a sign that maybe Slmccl is a loving beast, though he has his CHULKY side. It is unclear what year exactly this occured in, but the slime investigators have found the graves of his former rat teachers, and copious amounts of slime. Though rat society has now devolved into the cheddar vs mozzarella factions, the illusive Slmccl made a huge impact on the rats and his story lives on in the older generations, who pass it down to their children by sound of squeak (word of tongue).
