Dear jelly i have a tip on getting gold much faster it requires you to have a silk touch pickaxe and mine gold in the nether There is much more gold in the nether than the overworld so if you use a silk touch on the nether's gold it should drop a nether gold ore If you smelt it you get a gold ingot (Give this a lot of likes so jelly's see's this)
