well gj, but next time capture the 1st rate.. i captured my first 1st rate with a corvette.. almost same strategy. 1. destroy its sail 2. destroy its front or rear cannons 3. get very close to its front or rear and shoot a lot of canister shots to kill its crew 4. pray to god, that you have enough sailors on your ships to take control of 1st rank.. now i have the stout rattler from portugiese king. and if you have a fleet (4ships) of fully equipped 1st rates, you dont even carry a lot of ammo with you (ecept for a few chain balls). get close and board everything

I took out 3 first rates together by making them follow me and then slowing down and speedi ng up and dropping tons of gun powder and oil into the sea and when that was ou t o would farm my motor on them with sum distance. I know i t sounds confusing but just think bout it.

1st hand are slow and big, if you're actually good at aiming you can use mortars to actually hit it and cause strong damage, however yeah he's good, me I actually gave up big ships and started to use gallons with mortar guns instead, one ship can sink a fleet of you aim well

@@johnrheycapilitan3674 It doesn't matter how strong you upgrade any ship in the game, you see the mortar is actually supposed to hit forts right? Its damage ability is just big, I used to move around with 2 1st hand rate and 2 medium ships, then when I started noticing that you can use the mortar against ships I simply use one medium that has a great speed and strength, whenever I fight bigger ships I simply move away from them and use the mortar to hit, gun powder as well, and that's it, in the game the hardest battle is when you fight the east Indian company's fleet, I ended them all with one ship using mortars
