Thank you so very Ron. After viewing your Basic Algebra 1 and 2, I finally understand it. Although I took Algebra in school, all I learned from those classes was how the Ancient Egyptians incorporated gorillas into their society. Hard to believe, but it's true.

That chart reminds me how the Towers did their bookkeeping before you came to them so to straighten it all out. :)

I'm trying to create a video that explains the basic concepts of algebra from single variable to explaining equations with x and y in them along with inequalities. I haven't been able to devote the time I would like to in order to finish the project. I'll try though.

Thank you very much for your time. I really benefited your lesson a lot. Coul you please upload more basic algebra videos and advanced grade as well? I mean the complete course of algebra from start to the end in sequence. I know it is not easy to prepare but if you could. Thanks Ron

11minutes 52 seconds into the video; Why move the 24 + 2, to the other side? Can't I just subtract 2 from both sides?

6/0? Super confused I got -6/0. I'm not following the example you used in te beginning but I'm doing what my teacher taught. I've used it on all the examples and got them right but I don't see why you would get -6/0. If I can do the original way and get it right every time why is this contradicting that?
@RoadsideRon10 жыл бұрын
I used the point (2,3) in the front then when you do the arithmetic it comes out to positive 6. If you flip the points and use (-4,3) first then it comes out to minus 6 on top. If you have any number other than zero in the denominator the signs on top and bottom will always interact with each other to have the same overall sign for you final result. But because division by zero is not allowed you get two different numbers in the top of the slope. So, this is one example of why division by zero is not allowed in arithmetic. It creates different and unusable results.

Ron Cox And I tatooed the word "Why" on my left forearm many, many years ago, but without the question mark.

Ron Cox Thanks for replying so fast. So in the sense of zero being on the bottom does the top not really matter?
@RoadsideRon10 жыл бұрын
***** That's correct. Since the bottom is not allowed it doesn't matter what's on top since that doesn't matter either.

Ron Cox Thank you so much. I really appreciate what your doing here.
