Band BIO
Slot (Russian: Слот) is a Russian metal band. The members of the group: Daria "Nookie" Stavrovich, Igor "Cache" Lobanov, Sergey "ID" Bogolyubsky, Nikita Muravyov, Vasiliy «Ghost» Gorshkov.
Since its inception, the group has released eight studio albums, two remix albums, two mini-albums, two live DVDs, recorded 20 singles and several soundtracks. The slot is known for its long tours of Russia and neighboring countries, which sometimes last more than a year.
The group plays at all major festivals. At their speech at the Nashestvie 2019 there were 30 thousand people. In addition to Russian festivals, they played at major festival in Slovakia named "Top fest".
The release of the album Break The Code in the US was preceded by the appearance on the radio of the single of the same name "Break the Code", which in just one week hit the rotation of 55 American radio stations and took second place in the rating of Metal Radio Station Add Chart.
FUN FACTS about the vocalist:
Vocalist of the group - Daria Stavrovich - is semifinalist of the popular Russian broadcast "The Voice". Her performance of the song Cranberries "Zombie" has got 29 million views on KZbin. Also Daria entered the list of "Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock" according to the most respected American magazine "Revolver".

This is a bit of a surprise!! I have been listening to Slot for more than 10 years and they are fantastic outfit! Slot ( Слот) The members of the group are Daria "Nookie" Stavrovich, Igor "Cache" Lobanov, Sergey "ID" Bogolyubsky, Nikita Muravyov, Vasiliy «Ghost» Gorshkov. Daria is a fantastic singer, her rendition of her own song at the Russia Voice 2016 of "ripples on the water" ( круги на воде) is worth watching, she literally slays the audience. There are two other Russian bands I like who have the same female singer are called Tracktor bowling and Louna!! One more thing regarding Slot their song " they killed Kenny" ("Они Убили Ккнни") is extremely funny which is based on South Park

You know how there are some bands you need to grow up to listen? For me this is one of those. I was like 10 or 12 when they started and it's only now that I finally feel this music. I'm 27. P.s. No, I was 7 when they started, but I was 12 when they actually exploded with the «Trinity» album and «Dead Stars» song. I also remember listening to «They killed Kenny» Also, their«Two wars» song is awesome! Oh how I wish i'd born 10 years earlier than I did.

As I understand, the song is about the terror from the (Middle) East. So I guess that those vocals are not wierd but some kind of referal to the Middle Eastern way of singing.

This is a vocalese - a complicated technique and thus quite valuable from composition and performance point of view. Daria, the female vocalist, is a professional singer, so she does such a things perfectly. Just trust her skill and taste, relax and let it in.
