Played 2W yesterday evening. 95 in free play and put 150 in. Playing quarters and 1.25 a pop. Went on a bit of a run and got it up to around 275 in about an hour. Went cold. Switched to Bonus Poker at $1 denom around the 200 mark. Lost it all back to 155 and dealt 3 to a royal and hit it for 4k. Switched back to quarters waiting on the HP and donated back 20 or 30 while I waited. Attendant paid me out, tossed her a 20, and got the hell out. I heard your voice in my head 😂

A hand pay is when you win over $1200, you get a w2g and they pay you cash. The fast pay is an option to fill out before you play where you enter a pin and the money stays on the machine and you are able to continue play instead of waiting for an attendant. If you don't set up fast pay the only other option is attendant pay.

@@rashrick1 Even if he lost $1,000,000 he may still have to pay taxes. Because I am a single filer (widow) my $6250 winnings last year put me into a higher tax bracket and I had to pay $2000. Took all the fun out of it. When you put down your winnings, it goes on the first page as income and if you go over a certain amount it will bump you up and your tax rate will be higher. Such a bummer. I haven't won a thing this year and haven't even really tried because I want to get a refund next year.

It's a common misconception that put pushing you up into a higher tax bracket makes you pay more tax on all of your income. You'll only be taxed a higher rate on the amount of income that actually falls in thw higher bracket. You didn't pay $2000 more dollars on the winnings. Maybe a few hundred.

I think the only time you would not want to keep 2 pair dealt , is when the pay table is only 1-1 for that hand , and the 4 of kind pays 80-1 . So Bonus Poker Deluxe comes to mind for that ... but IDK ... there are strategy charts out there that will tell you. Which I guess the pay out for the full house depends too . 7-1 probably 8-1 maybe 9-1 probably not 10-1 definitely not And oh ya ... does 1 of your 2 pair pay by themselves ... because I would think always holding 2 low pair is the way to go ??? But would guess never ever only hold 1 pair when the 2 pair pays 2-1 ;) Which hmmm makes me wonder about the Aces and Faces pay table .... guess I'll go check it out . A win/loss statement from the casinos and a schedule A will make it a push and you don't have to pay any tax. I don't bet as high as Andrew but 2018 was $53K in hand pays and 2019 was 48K. Payed no tax. Also didn't pay for rooms/suites, food / beverage or any kind of concert tickets in the last 35 years. The closings and half capacity BS of 2020 and 2021 lowered those kind of wins. Only had about 8K this year and less in 2020. Anymore it seems the casinos are making up for the lost revenue and their "keep" is bigger.

Otherwise high denomination players like Andrew would owe literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes. My guess is he’s on track to have over $1M in handpays.
