Slovak has been named the 'hardest language of the world' multiple times online, but how hard is it really? Not at all! By the end of this lesson you will be able to read anything in Slovak!
In these video lessons I will be teaching you the Slovak language and let me tell you, there is nothing to be afraid of! And by the end of this course you can proudly walk up to your friends or colleagues and say "I can speak the hardest language in the world!"
In the second video lesson I will go over the pronunciation of consonants found in Slovak. You'll also learn how they interact with vowels. If after watching the video you have any questions, leave them in the comments section below and I will answer them!

Thank you so much for explaining the "de te ne le" concept. I was struggling to find a pattern in which sounds get palatalised and which don't. Now it makes perfect sense!

There's a large database of Slovak folk/national literature provided by the SME newspaper over here: zlatyfond.sme.sk/ If I were to cover them, I would probably read them out with text in both English and Slovak. Might do so in the future :)

Awesome video! This was very helpful. What dialect do you speak that the "le" and "li" sounds are not softened?
@memoriesadrift
@memoriesadrift 4 жыл бұрын
It's the Bratislava dialect. Some other dialects don't soften other pairs (or any at all) - regions like Záhorie or Trnava

In Russian or Polish it's more easier to see the difference between mi and my because of ы sound 😊

Ahoj, how can i found that ''i'' and ''y'' words that have the same sound.
@memoriesadrift

Just a feature of the language! i and y are used to represent the same sound in different contexts in writing, especially depending on the consonants around them.
