Great videos, awesome trip ... you are right about gravity, once you are going over on that camber you are going ... I am probably heading down to Lake Bled from Calais on my V-Strom this coming June. Don't have many days (9) so going to break its back on the motorway first 2 days and then some nice scenery around Bled and then back.

That bike is top heavy.

I find the weight comparable to most other bikes of that CC capacity, Once you pass a certain tilt point you end up on your arse no matter what bike....I even did it on a 1250 GS I owned a couple of years back.

Only just passed my test this weekend so whenever I see a drop I'm always interested what happend.. Glad you and the bike are ok. What an amazing place though, it looks like paradise. I'm looking at the 2024 Tiger 900's and would love to go on a road trip like this. New subscriber here.

Hi, thanks for the comment....the 900 Tiger looks a great, I actually had a test ride on one just before the 1200 was announced and I was really impressed with the 900 and it's just been updated for this year

Hello, very nice pictures of your travel. Thanks for this. I just purchased a Tiger GT Pro, could you please tell us what were the damages on the bike after this fall ?
@CannyMotoOdyssey11 ай бұрын
Hi There....In the following episode No3 I showed most of the damage sustained although the right hand side tank panel was lightly scratched I did replace this and it set me back about £340 so investing in the high crash bars would have saved the Tank area so I would suggest maybe a good investment in future.

Hello, very nice trip and pictures of the trip. If I may ask a question, since you ride a Tiger 1200 GT like I do : in episode 1 there is a short windshield on top of the stock one. Would you recommend it concerning wind noise attenuation ? What model is it ?
@CannyMotoOdyssey11 ай бұрын
Hi...Thanks for the comments. Yes I would definitely recommend the screen deflector, its adjustable so you can get it at the correct angle that suites you and with it being held in place with alien screw clamps I also transfer it onto the BMW S1000XR when I take that bike on tour.

Thats why I got rid of my BM tractor couldn’t pick it up. Plus new ones far too expensive.

Hi. thanks for the comment...The animated route was generated using Keynote which is a free programme on Apple computers, there is a few videos out there on KZbin on how exactly its done.

Have you ever considered trail braking. I find it so stabilising in hairpins. So u enter the bend in lowest gear with either brake on. You keep the power on gently and control the speed or movement by the brake. Not trying teach I anything just learnt by mistake and watching trail braking on here. I use it for the fast stuff and have never scared myself in a bend since. I had a honda 750 dct and it had me off in a hairpin as it couldn’t cope with the sudden severity and did a 2nd to 1st change at very steep incline. Back to a manual for me. But hairpins always 1st gear got all pull and torque and control using brake. Not aggressively just feels right and as engine is revving will haul u up in events like this. Glad u and bike ok buddy

Hi. Thanks for the comment....I actually usually trail brake coming down hill into hairpins but never tried it going up... I think the problem arose due to 2 factors. the first one was me being overcautious going into the hairpin as a minute earlier a car came around another hairpin on our side of the road and we had to take avoiding action so I approached this blind hairpin at a tighter angle than I would normally and secondly I attempted the gear change into 1st gear a tad too late and when I hit neutral instead of 1st gear the bike had almost stopped catching me by surprise and off balance....thanks for the heads up anyway.

Don't forget bikers ! Slovenia is a cycling nation so if you are riding here be sure you will have LOTS of cyclist any day but on weekends that number will explode ! So expect one just about out of any corner.
