A year ago had this same exact thread. Idiots in there kept telling me I didn’t appreciate the steadyness and “realism” and that they were a firearm user so they must be right. Yeah, firearm user in the target range. In an actual battle, you’re not gonna be slow, you’ll probably make some human error like you see in MW19 (where sometimes the magazine misses the hole). I’ve never been in a real gunfight, but the panic reloading is real even in airsoft.

Ironically these reloads work in this video, because they’re presumably at the firing range. Some games have a “slowed” reload vs “combat” reload feature and I wish more games had this.

I’ve actually handled a UTS-15 and it’s about as weird as you’d expect, the “doors” on either side don’t close automatically though and they are more dust covers than anything. It was also a very cheap feeling shotgun when handling it as well

Dunno why the "sticky" Garand bolt is so common. I actually think it looks cooler when the clip is mashed in and it closes by itself.

That "sticky" bolt is actually how it's normally supposed to operate. You would load the clip in and then smack it forward with your hand. Otherwise you're supposed to use the side of your hand to hold the bolt back while you're loading the clip in, so that if you accidentally pushed the clip in too much it didn't come forward onto your fingers.

@@HappyMan0203 Pretty sure you have that backwards. The infamy of "Garand thumb" comes from the bolt automatically actuating with the insertion of the clip because the user didn't clear their thumb fast enough.

@@SolidSonicTH The bolt on the Garand did that far less often then it's made out. It only really occurred if the user was too aggressive with inserting the clip, thus depressing the release too much, or if the bolt was worn out. Under normal circumstances, the bolt is supposed to hold open for you, and cannot close forward until you're thumb would plenty out of the way. Often you'd have to assist it as well by doing that tapping of the bolt handle after loading. Garand thumb did happen, but it was not as common as it's thought to be. It was mostly an issue for those learning how to properly load and use the gun such as in training. However, in the field itself it wasn't much of a thing at all because soldier had learned how to properly handle and use the rifle.
