I see this kind of comment all the time. They absolutely are harmonizing! Doubling the same note is also a form of harmonization. Plus, they are doubling the melody line which is harmonizing with the notes being played on the guitar.

I suppose. Sure, there's harmony in all music that is more than just a line of notes. And harmony has several different definitions and it doesn't really matter if it sounds good in the end. But, when you're talking diatonic harmony of the voice, a double melody in the same octave from two different voice types is traditionally a no-no except in small instances and not commonly thought of as harmony now. I just thought I might be able to show somebody something nifty. Great music either way.
